  1. And I believe that he had a website that was entirely made of Mack trucks!!! If I'm not mistaken, the website went something like this: sakismack.skyrock.com Take Care, Tony Trout
  2. Ok, I sure hope that someone can answer a question that's been burning a hole inside me ever since I first saw one: During the twenty years that Mack was building cabover trucks, just exactly when did the Mack F-700 cabover come into existence?!?!? If someone can please.....PLEASE answer this question for me, it would be a huge relief because everyone I've asked can't give me a definitive answer! Thanks, Tony T.
  3. I absolutely HATE snakes! There should be a special place in Hell for the little and the big bastards!
  4. This very truck was in Rome, Georgia and owned at the time by Anthony Fox of Anthony Fox Trucking. I live probably a couple of hours away from there and always wanted to see the "Convoy" truck......but, sadly, I never did. Another truck I still want to see in person is Paul Sagehorn's actual "BJ & The Bear" K-100 Kenworth Aerodyne. But, until that truck makes a visit or gets close to Murphy, North Carolina.....that won't happen, either. The reasons why I'm so disappointed at not getting to see these two iconic trucks from my childhood is because I've been disabled since birth with mild Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus and I can't travel very far. Maybe someday, Lord willing, I will get to see (and, hopefully, sit in the driver's seats) of the original "Convoy" Mack and the last surviving truck from the 1979-1981 television show, "BJ & The Bear." God Bless, Tony Trout
  5. My late Father drove (and also died while driving) a white F model rig for a Georgia-based company by the name of Turpin Trucking Co. in Hiawassee, GA. He and my Mom (who he taught to drive the truck, thank God) were on their way back from New York when my Father peacefully passed away while driving. But, he lived just long enough to yell to my Mom that he was passing out & that he loved her & me (it was later ruled that he had suffered a massive heart attack while at the wheel). My Mom has never gotten over that event even now. I was only three years old at the time. Mom told me once that Dad hadn't been feeling very well during the entire trip and, eerily told my Mom that the trip would be his last and that he was going to get a "regular" job so he could stay home and watch me grow up and be the Dad he was supposed to be. Unfortunately, those plans never worked out. I still miss him to this very day even though I've got a wonderful Stepfather whom I love very much. He, himself, has suffered from COPD/Emphysema since the early-2000s. Thanks for the photos of the "F" Mack COEs.....the photos have brought back a lot of bittersweet memories for me. But, if I were ever given the chance, I would love to ride in another one someday before it's my time to leave this world. I'm mildly disabled with Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus but I would also love to even drive an "F" COE, even though I was told a long time ago that I would never be able to get license to drive anything. 😢 The guy that owns the only "R" model Mack from the 1978 movie, "Convoy", lives in the NE part of Georgia and I would LOVE to be able to see that truck, too! Unfortunately, I probably won't ever be going down that way again because, to make it easier on my parents & I, he has appointed some doctors in north Georgia to oversee my heart condition (I have a 'rogue vein' that goes right across my heart that's been there since I was born.....but we didn't know it until several years ago!).
  6. Holy guacamole!!! What a huge plant!!!!
  7. The only thing I don't like about that Mack is that it's a daycab. I like the Mack F's that the long-haul and OTR drivers used back in the 1970s.
  8. WOW!!! Love those old F models!!! Sure wish I could find or afford one. But....it would just sit there because I'm disabled and can't drive (I have Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus). The reason I'd love to have one is solely because my Father drove one - I believe that it was a '77 Mack COE. I do know that it was white and he always pulled a great dane reefer trailer and hauled eggs, mainly, either to Hiawassee, GA or even up to New York. Sadly, New York is where he passed away on February 5, 1980 (four days after my Mom's 32nd birthday. He was 38. A massive heart attack felled him while he was at the wheel driving and Mom had to stop the truck by herself. It took her forever to get any other trucker to stop and help but....it didn't matter because Dad was already gone by the time his body hit the wheel. I used to sit in the truck when in Gainesville, GA while loading/unloading and play with the steering wheel and pretend I was driving. At one point, my father actually put me in his lap and let me sit there while he drove. I was really young - not even three, probably - but I do remember that particular moment. I sure do miss my Dad and when I see an old F model, it always brings a tear to the old eye and reminds me of what Dad drove. I actually have two pictures of the truck (hooked to the trailer) but....my printer/scanner won't work for some reason so I can't upload the photo.
  9. I adore those "F" model Macks!
