  1. I just bought the MB in FL. Its in excellent shape. Just needs paint. Came with everything, including a chassis with a rotten cab.il be looking for misc odds and ends. Right now I need an air cleaner that mounts behind the cab with the tall stack and all plumbing, and a decent steering wheel.

I was looking at that auction too,I'm glad someone got that truck and is doing something with it.
  2. There sure is a lot to learn on this topic...so I've got maxi cans on my old rears that appear to be close to correct. I believe if I get offset slack adjusters I'll be legal...Is that not possible or just difficult? I do know that the cans sit real close to the sidewall of the tires. The clamps are all rotated so that the draw bolt and nut are inboard and not out as they would make contact for sure. Is that too close for comfort? I know the prior owner ran a triple cylinder Donaldson dump body on it and had lengthened the frame a foot or so to accommodate its length. He definitely worked the truck in its current axle/brake configuration for a long time.

MACKMB212 how are your brakes set up on the old rears? I'd love a picture of it (oh and don't throw those away...)

    Thanks

    Greg

  3. So I have pulled the rears out of my truck for several reasons. While I'm at this point I am thinking of faster ratio. I have 7.49's now and from what I read and was told that was the fastest ratio available at the time. A friend of mine keeps telling me to find dm800 rears for the faster ratios and for having 30/30 brake chambers. Dose anyone know if gear sets are still available for these older carriers I have crd113 stamped onto the hogshead. I'm 99% sure I have a double overdrive quadbox and I'm looking to get up to 65 mph

  4. I'm looking to sell this cab it was from a b30 I started modifying the driver side floor to the b81 style floor it can be changed back to the flat style. The floor was rotted out on the driver side before I cut it out so I didn't ruin a good cab by doing this. The rest of the floor is just about perfect and still has green paint, the passenger side rocker is nice and straight. The driver side rocker and the area below the air vent needs some work. The back panel of this cab took a beating and would probably need to be replaced. The roof has a few small dents. The areas around the windshield where these cabs are known to rot are perfect and same with the fire wall. I'm asking 500 for the cab

  5. I found the part number in a b81 parts book and it dose come up as a king pin kit through Napa. I made this post to see if anyone had them laying around on a shelf, I have found them new for sale but there over 1000 dollars.

  6. I been looking for a winch for a long time now a finally got one. What I am looking for is information on them. This one has 23L stamped in the top to the gear housing. I have been looking around the web and on eBay for information like operation and what leavers do what on it, the capacity, ect. I never really seen a post on here with this topic discussed.

If anyone had a rope reel laying around for one of these I would like to buy one.
