  1. Hi 84superdog, Didn't the Iraqi gun have tubular vents on each side (180 degrees apart) facing backwards about 30 degrees from the barrel spaced out about every 20 feet or so all the way up to prolong barrel life?

  2. Hi Vlad, Is that the model made from wood built in England? That undercarriage is something else on the Russian gun. On you tube there is a good vid if you go to the 800mm gun, that shows all 4 guns firing on Sevastopol. Do u remember how long it was after the seige was started before they brought those guns in?..........Paul

  3. Hi 84superdog, The gun is still up on the VT Canadian border going to rust. It was able to reach Mexico City from there if i remember right with rocket propelled shells he was working on. Thats what was being developed in Germany for the 800mm guns to reach London from France. Do you remember when the shit hit the fan when he was shipping these shells to S. Afrika via Spain on the Teygealand (spelling may ne be correct)?...Paul

  4. LOL, Well, im 69 with no plans to retire, just signed a 20 year contract with a new company repping me east of the Mississippi, all of Mexico and eastern Canada, this in addition to my long term customer base. Yes that truck is typical NYC / NJ set up with the big, high cab protector. I plan to extend and raise the one on the Staten Island truck too. You do have a better chance finding those types of B models in the northeast for sure., but i also dont blame you for leaving northern Maine, you were at a latitude higher than Montreal or Tornoto, Canada........Paul

  5. Hi Thomas, No I haven't started anything as yet, I myself am wotking 7 days a week in my tool & die business, no lie, my men are burnt out working 60 to 70 hours a week and we are running on an 8 month backlog, now how is you're day going, LOL.................Paul (I have no computers at my house, so when you see me on here at 12 midnight, it means i am still in the office sitting in front of 3 computers blurry eyed programing or designing parts for the machine shop. lol)

  6. Hi Green Dash, Yes, we have one of the 5 sisters now renamed the Eagle being used as the Coast Guard Training Ship, based in New London, CT We also got the Heavy Cruiser Prinze Eugen, which was the ship that went out with the Bismark and was released into the N.Atlantic before the Bismark was sunk. We incorporated it into the U.S. Navy and renamed it the U.S.S. Prinze Eugen -300

  7. Hi Mike69 I have pictures some where I will have to find of 3 of our rail guns, which were no where near the size of the German ones, that were stationed on rail spurs through the sand dunes on the Atlantic side of Provincetown on the very tip of Cape Cod. The entrance to Provincetown Harbor was where two 16" Naval guns were positioned also, the foundations were dismatled about 10 years ago, but the built up mounds are still visable when you look out to Long Point.........Paul

  8. Hi Green Dash & other dog, I under estimated the interest generated here. You can get on U Tube and type in "Worlds Biggest Gun" or "800mm DORA Gun" or "Schwerer Gustav Gun" and see some good footage of this gun and some othe siege mortors also. Gustav was Alfried Krupps father and Dora was the Senior Engineers wife, hence the names. 250 rounds were fired at their proving grounds before the German High Command took delivery.

  9. Hi farmer52, Velocity 2700 ft / s Caliber 80 centimetres (31 inch) Diameter I believe it was used in battle just this once, total of 48 rounds fired during the battle and the whole war as a matter of fact. Took 45 minutes to reload, but the city fell within 3 to 4 days and then it was over. The gun barrel was good for only 100 rounds, then needed to be replaced, but that never did happen. Was originally designed as an anti tank gun. Whole gun length was 155 feet and the weight was 1350 tons...........Paul

  10. Hi Farmer & Mike69, I am glad to hear there are others interested too. There were 3 guns built by the Krupp Works, only one went into battle at Sevastopol, on coastal Ukraine. Fired a total of 48 rounds total during the war there, brought the city to its knees. 7 ton shell was able to penetrate solid rock or concrete 90 feet thick. But high maintenence piece of equipment, took up to 3 months to get in place and assemble, laying track, security, assemble crane, mechanics, factory engineers, army, Luftwaffe, 4200 men total etc etc, etc............Paul

  11. Hi bulldogboy, Yes that gun is a well engineered piece of equipment. Those constellations were based down here at Otis Field. Remember as a kid see them flying so low over town, 3 engines out, oil pouring out of the others, belly covered, sirens out at the base blaring, town fire whistle blowing, and they just about making it back. During that era, main street Falmouth, was patrolled by Army MP's along with police dept. Yes sub discovery made public this summer. About 10 years ago another off Chatham was discovered sitting upright on the ocean bottom, swastika still visible on deck. Also Gustav being assembled......Paul
