Hi eruell, I think it boils down to what the truck is worth to you. Set a price, if you don't get it, then keep it. Paul

I know Vinny, driving it will give me ambition, but I lack time, even working in my office designing today with 2 men working in the machine shop. But you just keep going on an even keel. Enjoy the pics, Paul

Your getting there Vinny, keep it up. Maybe when you're finished you will have to be the one to get my trucks done, LOL. Paul

Hi JTF, Im in the same boat. I had my class 1 license back in 1970 when I was in the trucking business but let it go. I still run my own tool & die business but just bought 2 1964 Mack B81's Dump Trucks just to own them, no working them. I havent got a straight answer yet from insurance companies or registry, friends, etc, about whats required to drive a truck registered as an antique. Im also just about 70 which may be held against me. Thanks, Paul

You could not have said it any better Vinny. I can't understand how these guys can compare a pete or kw to a Mack, just look at the Mack suspension.
Not to change the subject Vinny, I bought another Mack B81 from a guy who has 5 Autocars for sale. That 17 y/o from NJ who sold his B61 cheap on ebay, we was looking for an Autocar I think, have him get ahold of me if you chat with him, Thanks, Paul

Hi JOCKO, Did you buy an A/C Yet, I have a lead where there are 5 for sale from one outfit in NY, Paul

Hi Jocko, What a shame, I just saw this today for some reason, had to read further before I discovered it was sold, well another one i missed out on, 6 to 7 grand was a good price I think.

Hi FWD, WOW, Quite a history you have with it. I am partial to them to as I remember the Boston Fire Dept. had a number of them in the inner city when I was going to college up there back in 1961. They also had mainly Seagrave Ladder trucks, but I do remember seeing a ladder truck with the tractor being a FWD. Paul

Hi F.W.D. No, was unaware of it as I am mainly into Mack dumps and tractors, but do love these old Ahrens. Two town here on the Cape still have one each and use then in parades, etc. Hyannis lost all theirs in trades but tracked one down and rebought it and brought it back to life. My town never let the last one go, thank god, as they did the first two. I love to hear the power those engines have. Are you familiar with Maxims that were built in Middleboro, MA? Paul
-
Ahrens Fox
-
Not sure if this is the Falmouth Engine 1, but is the same
-
Hi Loadstar, Was wondering if you had interest in Maxims, being so close to Middleboro? Myself, I always loved the 1927 Ahrens Fox, Falmouth had 3, still has one, other two were traded cheap, years ago, maybe $1.00. Paul

Hi Ben, You can go back into you're truck and put more time into it also. Attack one problem area at a time. But in the end you just have to satisfy yourself. Vinny's cab isn't lopsided, I think it resting there, hasn't been aligned or bolted in yet. Paul
