  1. Cool! Is he willing to part with it? If so, what kind of $$$$ are we talking? Ben
  2. I really wasn't thinking about buying a thirteen-letter crap spreader anytime soon. Ben
  3. I really like the blue truck, it looks pretty awesome. Ben
  4. Awesome! Only problem is, down the street from you is not exacly down the street from me. Thanks for telling me though. Ben
  5. This hood: would sit almost a foot higher and have all that wasted space above the engine if I left it that way. By turning the stuff around, the body can sit so much lower, and in my opinion look better. With 46 inch tires, it's already going to sit really high, so I don't need it to be any higher for no good reason. Ben
  6. For my pickup truck (please ignore the fact that it sounds crazy) I'm going to need a front axle from a big 6x6. A set of axles from a "duece and a half" won't be able to handle the weight and torque from my 6V92TA. I need a bigger one, like the one in the picture below. That way, not only will it handle the torque, but I can also put regular 10 lug wheels on it, insead of those 20" 6 lug ones. If anybody has a set of those, just the front one, or knows where I can find some, please let me know. Thanks, Ben
  7. Oh boy, I can't wait to see it. I wonder if it will sound as good as my 6V92? Ben
  8. My buddy gave me an all-steel, one-piece, flip frontend for it. I'm going to turn the exhaust manifolds and turbo around so that the crosspipes that run from the manifolds up to the turbo will be up agianst the firewall. The turbo will fit up inside the hood real nicely that way. The only thing factory stock will be.....ahhh.....ummmm........well... it will pretty much all be custom. As soon as the B60 is on the road, I'll be working on that project and I'll be sure to poston here as I go. Ben
  9. I never said it would be easy. You're talking to a kid who's building a GMC pickup with a DD 6V92TA. With a torch, grinder and welder, you can do anything with anything. Ben
  10. It will gladly sit level on the flat going straight, but don't make any right turns in any kind of hurry. Cousin Ben
  11. You could potentially put an R model hood and cab on a superliner chassis, so it could look like an R 700 with a V8 in it (I assume that's what you're going for) but you couldn't just swap the hoods out. Ben
  12. You know, now that I've watched it a couple of times, I think it was missig a little bit. Sounded like a 6-71 missing on one cylinder (5-71) Glad it runs better now. Ben
  13. I don't know how to dance at all. If someone taught me, I could figure it out. I have no problem with talking to them or anything (I'm actually really good at that) but I can't dance. I guess I go on youtube and find some tutorial videos. Ben
  14. I think it looks great with a white hood. You could just tape it off and paint the fenders blue. Sounds like you had good help too. Ben
  15. How do you find all this stuff? You must devote all your time to U models. I'm too busy worrying about school and 4-H (girls) to research trucks that much. Cousin Ben
  16. Thanks for the advise, Uncle Rob. I know I'll be sitting with two German Exchange students and an Italian girl, as well as some others. I don't know German or Italian, so I hope they speek English too. Ben
  17. I just like the way those bumpers look, not that they come from peterbilts. If we put it on, it would look like this: That's the kind of bumper it is. My dad likes the original bumper better, it's the normal steel one with the grill protector. We also got two beautiful, chrome air horns fo the roof too. Ben
  18. It will be fun. It's a homeschool prom. I don't have a date, but the lady in charge is putting me at a table with all the girls that don't have dates, so I'll be in good shape. Cousin Ben
  19. Yes, it's the factory original, stainless-steel, chrome grille shell. I love it. If I can convince my dad to let me put the peterbilt bumper on it, it will look amazing. He thinks it would look better with the original bumper though. We'll see. Ben
  20. Send them a letter in the mail then. They will probably respond to that. Ben
  21. The next time I'm at the shop. It would be Thursday, but that's the night of my prom, so probably Saturday. Cousin Ben
  22. I wanted to post this before, but this is the first chance I got. We bought our B60 at our local scrapyard, after being told that a guy was restoring it, it got wrecked, and he scrapped it. The owner of the scrapyard, John Garvin (he's a great guy) got us in contact with the guy who owned the truck before us. We went to his house, where he still had everything he took off of it. We bought the stuff from him (for an awesome price) plus a bunch of other stuff to. Also, a beautiful, stainless steel peterbilt front bumper, as well as the original bumper from the B60, and a bunch of other cool accessories. And my favorite part of it all: He also gave us a picture of the truck when he bought it 25 years ago. I'll post that as soon as I scan it in. Also, our friend Brian Vought Sr. (another nice guy) is going to be doing the brakes this week. After that, it's sand, paint, assemble, and DRIVE! Ben
