Looks Great!!!!!! Glad the loaded run was successful... Now, your name lettered on the door and a small amount of pinstriping and you are all set to be a show stopper..

Vlad, Thank you for the very well explained answer to my statement "Never",, Actually I was thinking that the majority of us would never travel that far from home due to age and expense.
Curiosity question:: Have you seen any Brockways????? The last 50 Brockways were assembled in a warehouse in Miami FL by management to complete the order and were shipped to Iran. Possibly Oilfield???

You will have to play with it, but it is very possible you have a transmission like Harry described above.. When I lived in PA we had a V-8 powered IH chassis fire truck that shifted that way.

After several years pulling pneumatic tanks for Matlack, I have blown just about every product you can move with air..

Never mind plugging the lines with #2 cement. lt's when you blow the top cover off the silo because there was more product in it than what you were told! lol Everyone in the yard got a free car/truck wash. .....Hippy
If you think cement is a mess think about baking flour!!! Been there, Done that!!

I think (???) that in the 40's and 50's you were required to carry spare bulbs and there should also be some fuses in there..

Hauled many loads with those trailers out of the Northampton PA mills over the years..

We could certainly get by without painting it, we just want a different color on it mainly. And I wouldn't seriously consider any engine swap, even if the engine in it just disintegrated - it would be on marketplace immediately 🤣
Sometimes we have to learn to like what we got!!!!! Changing the wheel color to something different that goes with your green and matches the new lettering and pinstriping might (???) improve the the whole truck to your liking. And a whole lot cheaper than painting the whole thing!! You can photo shop, can you put your truck on the computer screen and play with different colors??????

Roads here are full of brain dead idjiots going down da shaw....already, and it is only 12:30. Parkway and rt 9 bridge over Raritan river in jersey are at a dead stop.took me 45 minutes to go 1/2 mile. And at least 50 cars followed me as I got off to cut through town on my way home.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nu Joisey!!!!!

By only looking at the pictures, I am NOT sure it needs painting???? Try to buff out the lettering, and get it relettered and a little pin striping and you will be good to go.. You are only less than 70?? I am 79 and the health issues are making it harder to travel each year.. Use your coins to travel and attend the shows you want to.. Try to consider the truck an investment that you can sell at a profit 10-15 years from now..

I would NOT Consider a repower!!!!!!!!! I will admit I am more of a purist to keep a truck original.. Consider your checkbook!!! You have already spent a fortune getting this gas engine running right.. For just hobby and show purposes what you have is an excellent vehicle. ENJOY IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I think(??) the cab and its size are the same, just the frame and suspensions are built for the work the trucks are intended.

Paul I think(??) the DM model designation stood for Dump/Mixer == Heavy Dury work.. The U models were were generally short tractors (prime mover in Aussie) to meet longer trailer length limits.

I have a very loose plan in mind
Fly into JFK, and head loosely for Cline landing in Alberta Canada, then to L.A., then New Orleans and back to New York
What I do in between is pretty much unplanned
Tim Maikshilo from the forum has sorted a set of wheels for me
Wanna see mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument, Grand Canyon, and what ever else tickles my fancy
So I reckon we can probably catch up
Paul
Throw Yellowstone in the mix also.. A great drive thru experience..

Since they were in the feed and grain business and NOT the Rock Salt I first assumed possibly some of their equipment is still around..

Another lead might be Level Green Transportation (Paul Crispell) outside the hamlet Caroline NY.. I do Not know if they have a Brooktondale, Berkshire or Newark Valley address. They are right in the corner where they all meet.. The older kids went to Newark Valley to high school and the younger ones went to Ithaca..They also are in the Agri trucking business and might know of Cayuga?????

I remember a lot of orange R's with red fenders in that area hauling bulk trailers. Might have been a different company though.
They might have been the Fort something(??) fleet out of the north side of Albany NY by lake George????????

How about the Iowa 80 Museum? They have a great museum with lots of antique trucks, but not as many as the Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum in Colonial Heights, Va. It's not as far south as it used to be, due to global warming. That's a great place to visit, they have a restaurant, gift shop, truck parking, everything you need. Let me know when you're gonna be there, I'll buy everybody lunch.
Tommy, I think your GPS got zapped by the Northern Lights!!!!! Walcott Iowa is one hell of a long ways from Vermont!!!!!!

Vlad, Thanks for the Brockway picture.. It is a 700 series with the Sheller Globe cab (Basically Mack)) so it would have been built in the last 2-3 years of Brockway operation.
