m5040 Posted March 4, 2009 Share Posted March 4, 2009 I am in the market for a single axle dump again. I have found a couple of trucks, one has the 300 with 2 valve and the other a 4 valve. Other then the years built and I would guess better parts availability for the 4 valve, is there any plus or minus features with each? Durability issues. Both have engine brakes. Both have engine brakes.i dont know that much, but from what ive seen with the few trucks ive worked with, there good engines either one, if maintained properly then there great. only thing i would see different is the power delivery might be different because of the 4 valve vs the 2 valve. but i dont know for sure. another thing i would look at the rest of the truck to make sure its everything you want exactly and have the make or break your decision.
