Hello I’m new to the forum, I apologize in advance if I’m in the wrong category. I’m restoring a 1987 r688 and the engine is an e6. The cam covers on the side of the block are leaking. Does the injector pump have to be removed to replace the gaskets. Thank you for the help

I’m located in central NJ might be far fetched but is there anyone who would be able to pull the pump and reinstall it for me as I’ve never done an injector pump myself on this engine? Obviously I would pay for the service

I bet its an Ambach pump.  Pull the pump. There should be a roll pin in the Pump drive coupler that only allows the pump to go back on in one way.  When the pump is pulled, do not rotate the engine...
