Looking to add a cb to my 13 chu613 day cab.
in the overhead there is what appears to be a antenna hookup as well as power.
the drivers side door has an antenna mounted on the mirror, I’m assuming this is for the am/fm radio.
the pass side has the same setup with just a stud. Do I just need a radio and a 4ft whip? Install seems pretty straight forward, just need some patience to get it calibrated.

I am not sure what to tell you I used to run a lot of CB radios. If it looks like it’s too difficult you might wanna just run it in the back of your cab. There’s lots of us that used to mount them on the slide bar where your airlines hang from Above the back window or just bolt the bracket to the back of the air shield and run your cord  through the window, insulation side door and tuck it into the ceiling panel. But wherever you mount the antenna, the bracket has to be grounded on steel. You might need to run a ground strap from a bracket to wherever you can find anything steel back of air shells usually has both going into the cab. You can put the ground strap on one of those bolts. Good luck. Bob.

I’ve had very good luck with reception on the back of the cab or the passenger door these days with all the plastic it’s a little bit more difficult than it used to be our Peterbilts have a pigeon perch on both sides above the doors, makes it very easy to hook the cable and antenna up and run ithe cord through the door weatherstripping kind of hard to explain without being there to point out what I’m talking about

Several drivers at my last job ran their own CB antennas on the towel bar behind the cab. The cable running through the headliner to the mirrors was broken, so they just went that route with great results. Mack made it difficult to remove everything just for a rubbed cable...
