Thought I put this out there, had a check  engine  light come on for this , mack has a service campaign  for it to delete  it and my thinking it should have bin a recall.2018 to 2020 it's going to fail. Naturally mine is out of warranty  a little  over 3000 to fix it.i would  definitely get it done if your still in warranty.     MC-10195317-0001.pdf https://share.google/NxNyh1FmTdVmJjnjZ

Yeah I do a lot of these deletes. I'm not sure what the parts cost, but it's a really easy fix other than updating the software for the accessory kit. 3k sounds high!

Edited to add... I had to check to see what we charge for the delete. About $1000. Dang maybe we are too cheap! Parts are less than 600 bucks, and the job only takes a couple hrs max.

I guess it depends on his location. I assume big city dealerships are way more expensive than small city mom and pop shops.

We would be right at the same for two hours of labor and the parts. It's a shame you have to have a program performed, because the work isn't too difficult.

Do even replace the Valve cover gasket? 600 bucks for two wine corks Pretty pricey bandaid! For a mistake on the engineering side! Something that should have been a recall! Much like the bull gear feasco! If it doesn’t break before warranty is up don’t fix it!Volvo trash!

Agreed! That 600 is the delete kit, and the updated rail pressure sensor and rear injector harness. If the sensor and harness have already been updated, then probably way less than 600.

We usually quote the V/C gasket when we're pulling them apart for a long time, like for injectors, camshaft, timing gear repairs, etc, but we usually just reuse them for an ePRV delete. You're not wrong, those things are EXPENSIVE!

Heinz if you came to me and told me you needed the job done out of warranty! You would be given the choice of which part required replacing and the possible implications of not  doing said items and let the customer decide! If if I hated the guy I would allow him some grace! Most times!😇as for the valve cover gasket that’s an ass cover deal and that could also be in his court !
just sayin
