mack dm front axle

Recommended Posts

i have a 1985 mack dm686s i bought the truck and it came with the narrow street tires on the front axle, i changed them out to dayton 425 65 22.5 and they rub very bad on the pitman arm. other dms i have driven have 425s and they stick out 3-4 inches past the fenders mine do not. i was told mack offered two different axle widths for these i have the narrow, does anyone have the part number for the wider style axle 18k

Probably different offset on the rims, and yes I have seen that on a lot of DM’s with that tire rubbing. There are relief valves in the steering box and stops on the spindles, maybe the truck when new was set up with narrower front tires, and now the wider ones rub.🤷‍♀️.  Terry:MackLogo:
