kscarbel2 Posted September 21, 2017 Share Posted September 21, 2017 Matt Cole, Commercial Carrier Journal (CCJ) / September 11, 2017 Daimler Trucks is recalling a few dozen Western Star 4900 trucks in which the weight of the front axle could exceed the spring capacity. The recall affects approximately 38 model year 2017-2018 trucks manufactured between Nov. 18, 2016, and July 24, 2017. The manufacturer says overloaded springs could cause the front axle to separate from the truck, causing a crash. Daimler will begin notifying owners on Oct. 20 and will replace the axle springs for free. Owners can contact DTNA with questions at 1-800-745-8000 with recall number FL-745.
