0 masterwelder Posted August 13, 2016 Share Posted August 13, 2016 (edited) Most of the time the thermometer is also a sight gauge, meaning the hydraulic fluid will be visible in the thermometer if at the same level. 0 B MACK Posted August 15, 2016 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Yes, the thermometers I have seen are sight glasses also. The cold oil level should be in the lower half of tube. I have seen some older hydro tanks that have a small round sight glass and other tanks with no means of seeing the oil level other than looking in the filler hole.
