Full Floater Posted August 18, 2015 Share Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) I have a 3" Bowie PTO water pump on my 79 R600. When i bought the truck, the PTO drive shaft was broken due to driver error. Anyways, im getting a new one made; but i have never used the PTO in this truck or any 12 speed for that matter. What are some basic guidelines? ? For example...how do I engage and disengage, what kind of rpms, what gear do I use? And does anyone know anything about Bowie water pumps? e9500v8 Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Depends what ratio pto is for what gear you should run in. You need to get numbers off your pto and see what ratio it is.
