There is hum coming out of it when running and when you shut down the engine there is a loud whining as it slows down. Any ideas. I just bought the truck and have little knowledge about these units. 39 Baby Mack Posted August 17, 2014 Share Posted August 17, 2014 I never heard one when running but have heard them many times after shut down.Sorta sounds like an old wet dry vac winding down after you shut them off.As long as the bushings are alright in the filter cartridge and the oil holes are open in the post in the housing and the bottom of the cartridge Iwouldn't think there is anything wrong with it.Ron Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
