storkmack
Found a real clean Peterbilt 378 that a customer has, it has a C-10in it rated at 350hp. Anybody know anything about these yella motors. It's a resale project for me, just want to know what I am getting into. Thanks, Brad
oldmacktrucks
Good engine, just very pricey when things go wrong. Drove a few with my union...cant complain. Resale should be good. Would it be possible for you to do an SOS on it prior to purchase?

oldmacktrucks
In the maintenance history did he do the lower end (rods and mains)? Also check for SOS results (oil samples) I mean for a quick turn around I'm sure you would do ok as long as it runs, has minimum blow by and holds good oil pressure at full operating temp. Cat made a great non emmision engine as long as they never mixed antifreeze and kept up on the P.M. I think you should do good
acegreaser
Early ones had bad roller rockers. That would fail and wipe the cam instantly. All rockers need to be up dated if has the old ones.Other wise its a time bomb.
