  1. Unhook the fuel going into the pump. Put an air hose into the fuel tank and hold a rag around it. (Don't hook the air hose up directly. You will build up way too much presure.) When you get fuel at the pump, hook the line back up to the pump. Crack the lines at the injectors and turn the engine over. When you get fuel to the injectors, close the lines and then try starting it.

  2. The difference between a RW6__ and RW7__ is the frame. The RW6 cross section is 13.1"x 3.3"x .24" and unloaded height is 38.6". The RW7 cross section is 13.5"x 3.4"x.39" and unloaded height is 39.7 to 40.4". This is from a spec book dated oct. 1990. Hope this helps.....David

  3. Since your truck is a tractor and not a dump, the side mount pto should be ok. You will need to leave the range/reverse lever in neutral and pick a gear for the other lever to have power to the pto. The problem with this pto on a dump truck is when you want to dump and spread, you can never match the speed of the truck with the speed of the hoist. Mack solved this problem with their own pto for the 6 speed. It mounts on the lower rear and has a drive shaft that runs from the front of the trans thru the counter shaft, so it gets power without the trans in gear. This allows you to pick the correct gear for spreading. I think this pto was made in three different ratios.

  4. There should be a hand pump on side of inj. pump.  I've had to use this to prime/fill the filter after changing it.  Even had to do it when I ran it low on fuel once.  Usually takes 20+ pumps to get it running again.  If the hand plunger has no resistance, then it's not picking up fuel..once it gets some resistance then you can tell it's drawing fuel.

    If it bleeds off from just sitting...then there are issues.  I don't have the knowledge so someone needs to speak up.  The pump is below the filter so it should have no problem after you get it primed first time.

    You can remove the inlet hose at the pump and put an air hose in the fuel tank that fuel is drawn from. Hold a rag around the air hose and fuel will be forced through the filters. The rag method will allow enough presure to get the job done but not enough to do any damage. Don't get carried away and hook it up directly to the tank as 100+ psi in a fuel tank could make a pretty good bang if it was to cut loose! More is not always better.

  5. If your asking about the fuel pump, unhook the input line to the injection pump, turn the engine over and see if you get fuel. If your asking about the injection pump, crack the lines at the injectors, turn the engine over and see if your getting fuel to the injectors.
