  1. Damned thing had several holes rotted through under the retaining strap.

    Rob

Had a tank on a pickup do the same thing. Once it was fixed I put it back in but used strips of old tire tube between the strap and tank.

I'm laughing at the fact that Rob is still having fuel related problems,,no fuel,,tanks that won't hold fuel,,etc. :loldude::tease::loldude::tease:

  2. i dont know where they got the trailer though.

Rumor had it that the trailer was an old East unit that had been rolled over. Guys talked about it around the shop. They cut out the floor and put cross bracing in to keep the walls inline. If you watch the cliff scene real slow and look you'll notice the missing floor and about 5 sets of cross bracing. East calls it bisecting.

  3. Creepy, yet clever.

    Devious, yet ingenious.

Have you met Rob? He needs a 1 ton just to be legal when he goes to the grocery store :loldude: . Mamma drives and he rides in the bed because of the smell, he blames mamma but we know better. :whistling::tease::banana:

  4. the only way to beat a Dodge is with a sledgehammer.

    Rob

I was about ready to take the sledgehammer approach. I dropped and cleaned the tank, replaced every rubber fuel line, some steel lines, fuel pump, rebuilt the carb, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ballast resister, and still battled. Finally when I got some help and time, I was able to watch the carb while my stepson Randy started her up. That is when I saw the choke plate flopping around. As soon as I put a nose picker on it and held it against the vacuum pull-off,,,TA-DA!!! It now has a manual choke. I don't regret any of the replaced items cause I now know their age and condition.

  5. My first reaction was "stupid bitch" but I realize she is saying what she is told to, so that makes her a good employee. She is covering her ass and justifying her position. These unemployed people aren't helping the economy, they are barely paying bills and keeping gas in their cars. That is economic life support. She sees movement and claims this is good because it is not stagnent, I see it moving toward the cliff without steering or brakes. If we drill more can we keep it here? MOST OF OUR OIL IS GOING TO CHINA!!! If we lower gas prices then the price of just about everthing will come down because of manufacturing and transportation costs. I noticed that since minimum wage went up, my grocery bill went up, coincidence? Our ignorant leader said it would help the low income people, bullshit, it had a neutral effect because their expenses went up also. Zero sum gain. I will now sit in my living room and clean guns waiting on the black sedans to show up.

  6. Save it, fix it, love it. The "A" series is rare because of limited production years but a lot of parts are interchangeable or universal. The cab is a carry over from the "E" models so most parts are the same like rubber and weatherstripping. External engine parts shouldn't be too bad and in most cases can be easily rebuilt. Before you try to start it be sure to have a second person with a good fire extinguisher standing by.

  7. I find it a little tough to get into British humor. Some of the Monty Python and Benny Hill stuff is funny but other shows loose my interest. The American version of Top Gear is filmed on my old marine Corps air station in southern Kalifornia. The truck show was funny, I cheered for the Petercar because it was the oldest and not a Volvo. And come on,,,,accidental fireworks are ALWAYS funny.

  8. That's not a bad lookin truck. Price is about right too. it looks like someone set up the front bumper for jin poles or a tow bar,,,could be made into a grill gaurd. The bed lines look off because of no cab gaurd and the rear is as high as the front,, some people like the rear lower for a taper side on older trucks. There was a reason for the taper but the bed looks to be like a grain dump.

  9. Surprised to see glossy paint in 1984. All the Skyhawks I was around were the dull emmissive absorbtion scheme by then.

That picture was taken at NAS Memphis,,,Millington,Tn. You remember that place Rob. Wasn't Nicki born there? In the fleet we had a few of the painted ones but most were the dull grey.

  10. The conspiracy wacko's think those are chemical trails. They talk that crap on the local radio station every once in a while. Me sitting in an A4 Skyhawk in 1984.
