  1. Thanks to those of you who contributed to my daughters sub-lunch sale. They did sell out, which was our goal, a cold sandwich on a cool day maybe isn't the first choice, but with this weather how can you plan. Thanks to those who purchased and thanks to those who simply donated. Maybe next year they will have more signs and maybe Ms. Dolk can draw customers in with her pink golf cart.

Thanks for the help you guys! Doug

  2. We are not exactly sure. I was at the Museum yesterday and got the news about it being taken to the museum. More info to come. I think this is the owner that had it on ebay, He is out of Canada but the truck was in the states. I will keep you posted as I learn things. Doug

  3. Are you coming to Mack Days at Gerharts? There is typically 150 trucks and a more laid back setting.

You are learning what the difference is between a truck show and a car show. At a truck show, most guys park their trucks and head off to enjoy the show. Car show attendees park their cars, open their hoods and trunks, sit on their lawn chairs at the back of their cars and don't talk to anyone except those who talk to them about their cars. I got sick of that a long time ago>

If you want to track a truck oner down, simply ask around. Most times it will only take a few people to get to the owner. Be patient, he is there to enjoy the show too!

  4. Hey Mack fans,

My daughter, Erica, and her fellow 9th graders will be selling a complete lunch at Gerharts as a fundraiser for their class.

    The lunch will consist of:

    • Sub, your choice of ham, turkey or italian
    • Bag of potato chips
    • Bottle of water
    • Dessert
    • After dinner mint

All of this for only $7.00

It will be set-up as Grab & Go, so you can enjoy the show.

Please consider supporting the Linden Hall class of 2015 with your donation and in return you get to enjoy a great lunch.

They will be located in the vendor area.

Thanks and have a safe trip!

  5. We had a good trip to Power Day in Hagerstown. I will post photos sometime later. It come off quite a bit better than most of us expected. It did remind you of the Bulldog Round-Up prior to it's demise. There were about as many trucks as I figured, a good turnout. If this keeps going I can see it growing. I think they could consider bringing back the name "Bulldog-Round-Up" because the only volvos in attendance were Powertrain owned.

I would also urge them to open the event to other brands. It is important to have inferior trucks to compare the Mack Trucks to.

  6. Wheels in Motion...

As I stated, Don is not in and will return 9-26. I don't know if anyone else at the museum can authorize any outside endeavors like this. I believe the museum is set up for tax deductible donations, we just have to arrange the donation process properly so it can be creditted accordingly. There are alot of hoops to make it through when dealing with this kind of thing.

As soon as Ken hears from the seller, I would like to speak with him, I'll send you a message.

    Thanks, Doug

  7. Don Shumaker is not in at the museum right now. He would be the one that would have the authority to approve such an endeavor. I spoke with him early last week about the truck, prior to this discussion, he knew about it and said it would be nice to have, but the museum doesn't have a budget to purchase trucks. I can assist any endeavor but with the recent weather and other things absorbing my time, I can't head this thing up. Since this is BMT through Watts, maybe Barry can offer a suggestion. I'll contact him this morning.

  8. There is no word on this being an annual event, at this point. The info on the entire deal has been limited.

Here is the deal on a show at the MCC. This has been discussed, the main problem is trying to find a weekend that doesn't have anything else scheduled. If we would have it in the spring, it would interfere with the planning for the Antique Truck Club of America National Meet at Macungie. It all comes down to a few doing alot. A fall show at the MCC would be great, but when do you have it? Fall Carlisle, Hershey, Mack Days, Tri-State and many other shows going on. At this point we are on hold and if an opportunity arises, we will jump on it.

For now, support your local shows, each of you are an ambassador for the Antique Truck hobby. Act appropriately, be courteous, personable and make people want to know more about our interest.

If you are not a member of the Antique Truck Club of America, please consider joining. We work hand in hand with the fine folks at Mack and look forward to keeping that relationship for many years to come.

    Doug
