  1. No one has said build a Oval Track Racer out of it yet. It's easy to assume someone might want to take the easy method and build a Rod but, a real Mack truck guy would search and get it back to it's original state of purpose. Just saying. Parts are out there but people are saving those parts for Dooms Day coming. They are afraid they will cheat themselves out of a fair price. There I said it, and glad I did.

Any advice as were I can get dual exuast for my 1980 mack R model dump truck. And what would the best diameter be

It helps to know what side of the planet, your on, because their are many places to choose from? I use Raney's Truck Center and they do have a Mack Section then choose Exhaust for an R Model.

  3. I was thinking more like galvanized trash cans. They make the deepest sounds and can be chromed. After going with these, you want go back to the wuss kind. I guarantee the ladies will chase the vehicle down the road. OH!, BTW, you will want to get the brightest headlights so folks can see their cell phones in the vehicles in front of you. Also to be popular with the millennials, get a lift kit for the front end and raise it at least 10 inches.

Does any one know the color the engine should be painted, the color of the intake tube from turbo to firewall and a color # for the green interior. Thanks to all

You should specify which engine? Some folks have Cummins in their B's.

Looking to purchase a driver side (70gal?) fuel tank to match the passenger side (45gal?) that I have. Its the square steel tank that I think was sold as a replacement. (possibly Tidewater Mack?) The tank is very similar to an R tank from what I can tell. I would also be interested in hearing if you have a pair of original square steel tanks from a B.

I get these dry runs most of the time when everyone is needing these rare parts. If they have them, they are not wanting to sell. I would at least call Barry at Watts Truck Center and ask him your question. 1-888-304-6225

    Good luck

So got my 1969 R611T and the interior is still the original green which I love.  There’s a few spots that need touched up from normal wear and I was wondering if there was a place that had that color or if I need to just get it color matched from someplace that sells auto paint?  TIA

If you can take a sample with you when you visit your local Auto Paint Store, then your ahead of the game.

Ohhh it was right in that time frame, these were thick letters so it took a bit, I would try a corner with a old Bondo putty knife that's what I used to wipe them off as it is plastic and didn't tear up the red underneath.. now its move on to finding parts, wanna dual stack and start buying aluminum wheels and conversion hubs.. I'm making a list and checking it twice haha

You got to be really good this year, little boy and not get into any trouble or say any bad language. Cause Santa is always listening. You only have eight more months until that special day. Just saying. LOL

I put a 327 Chevy engine  together one time in a laundry room in the house I didn’t have a garage and the parts were all cleaned up from the machine shop it really wasn’t anything messy. Bob

Bob, are you saying that you put that engine in the washing machine and then the cloths dryer and it came out running like a sewing machine.
