  1. thanks all interesting information. What im finding from talking to a clutch guru from the vendor i used competitor is that my truck is in what they call the 50% of the macks that have to have a specific clutch built soely for and distributed by mack. havent been able to get on here to check these till today because i had to drive 7 hours one way to pick up the proper clutch in the 6 padel that i wanted i could have gotten a 4 padel today about 3 hours away for $300 more but i still saved money if you set my time aside. pics will follow soon
  2. upon removing my clutch in my 99 ch e7 460 18 speed after approxamatly one year. the clutch plate against the flywheel has busted around some of the springs. this is a spicer 1860 f tourqe clutch a pull reefer and flatbed with this truck and drive it like the million mile truck that it is. the vendor i purchased the clutch from is telling me it is caused be vibrational tourqe the shop doing the job is saying bullshit as well as the mack dealer i do business with. has anyone got any ideas? not only will they not cover the clutch after telling me they warrenty for a year and will turn a blind eye to a couple days but i need to find out if there is something else wrong with this truck. HELP PLEASE
  3. i wimped out neither of my mack dealers would order the tool for me and they are to far away to borrow it. but my small shop has a mack experianced tech and he can borrow the tool. so im gonna have them do this job. thanks for all the help htough.--brian

  5. is the rear main tool a mack tool or a generic tool? and can service manuals be had for this truck?
  6. im about to do the second clutch job in a year in my 99 ch613 e7 460 vmac 3 18 spd maxitorque t2130. the clutch is acting like it broke another spring on the pressure plate but there is a oil cooler line that kinda wraps around the clutch area and appears that it is leaking trans oil in there the plan is to pull the trans replace this line all the clutch components (again) and do a rear main seal and input shaft. just wondering how big of a job the rear main seal and the input shaft is going to be and if im barking up the wrong tree on the leak in there? also can anyone give me some coaching or lead me to some material about doing the rear main i've never done this on a deisel and i had the clutch done at a shop but i supplied the parts so there is no labor warrenty so ganna have to do it myself? thank you in advance for any advice...
  7. are the rears aligned? my shop is telling me i have bushings out in the rear suspension and i can see that the alignment is out and that is creating a shake and almost uncontrollable shimmy thru the whole truck
  8. i guess ill start here even though its an old thread. ch 613 mack steer axle shake felt like tire out of round put new steers on and did exactly the same thing on the way home from the tire god. swapped some wheels around to the steer position still same old shake. this truck had new king pins in summer of 2009 where do i go from here? it deffinatly feels like its comeing from the front end also i put new shocks all the way around the truck end of last summer.
  9. i know im a little late on this thread but i hope someone will read this. does mack make a duel plug speed senser for the mack transmission one plug for the cpu and another for the speedo? this would solve the speedo problem when you break the connection from the cpu. and where can i get one?
