Just to let everyone know, these two trucks will have to go to the scrap soon. I've had them on Craigslist for months but no serious lookers. I don't want to scrap them but they've got to go.
Can you post a few pictures of the 59?

It's mid/late August.
I'd managed to track down the original Fed 17 a while back.
Having had time to deliberate, I thought I'd approach the owner(s), to see if I could acquire it.
If I can't have the rig, the original beacon would be a great memento.
On Friday, I emailed the guy who Bill had heard from about the beacon.
Bill had forwarded the photos he'd gotten, and had inadvertently given me the guy's email addy.
I waited until now to approach him.
How's this for a reply?
"
Hey Joe.
Yeah, we tried to find it a few times also, to no avail.
I still have the light in my living room, it's just here waiting for you.
I'd rather see it go to someone who will appreciate it for what it is, than sit around on a shelf collecting dust.
It's yours if you want it.
Let me know if you have any ideas as to how we can get together so I can get it to you.
I am in XXXXXX, PA.
Or, if Bill is going to be in the area, I can arrange to give it to him.
Either way, let me know.
Hope you are able to work something out with the guy, I'd like to see that old girl again.
Stay safe."
I told him I'm going to try to buy the truck, outright.
Wish me luck.
Hi I assume you never made a deal. I know where the truck is. I just bought the two L models for parts.

slightly off topic (no not me ) . if I may ask how did you come up with the Mack31 log in ?? reason for asking is that is what my license plate (ct ) was , I worked for Mack trucks and Baskin Robbins (31). had the MACK31 plate for years.
for back to topic; depending on set up/ shop equipt most important= $$$. change over that extreme on occasion it more practical to find a running chassis having matching engine (diesel) with proper ratio transmission/ rear end.do a change over.
My Great Grandfather sold Mack’s for 31 years in the tri state area. Started in 1938.

Is that a Philadelphia truck? That’s great. Where are you located?
My 1950 Autocar C 90 tractor has 2 radiator caps just like that one. I have no idea why.
Yes it is. I am in Avondale. The truck is in Philly in storage being tuned up.

Ive recently acquired a 1959 B Fire truck. Looking to do a service on the engine but I'm having a hard time finding part numbers for filters, oil specs and capacities. Engine is an ENF464B. Any help be it part #'s or links would be greatly appreciated. FYI, Ive already reached out to Watts and they had no luck.
If you search enf464 a few other threads come up. I reached out to another guy that has worked on these I will let you know.

Were you able to find this mount? If not, can you supply dimensions? I have a Mack bell mount that wasn't correct for my truck that looks very similar to the one pictured. I'd want to confirm dimensions before I would say it's the same.
Yes I can send them to you tonight. Do you have a picture you can send me? 610-745-0280

Better prepare for a rear gear swap, gas engines have deeper ratio gears than a diesel. Terry

I have a 1951 L fire truck.
Looking at the possibility of putting in a diesel. Will a Mack diesel match up with the current trans or would I need a trans as well?
also do I have to have the big air filter on the exterior of the hood?

@609albert would I be able to get a copy of your wiring diagram as well? I have a 1950 LS85 and desperately need some wiring information. Unfortunately the Mack museum doesn't have a copy of the information for my truck so I am searching for whatever I can get to try and straighten out the wiring on the old girl.
Send me your email I will forward what he sent me
