  1. Frst thing I did was copy those tables, then ship a copy off

to a friend of mine that is into 4 and 6BT Cummins.

    Good stuff!!

While you're here, any one got a rockwell front axle WITH brakes for my 'R' model??

Looks like there might be some trips to and from the West.

Might be some cheap shipping in here some place!!!

  2. Just checked in at oldmacksrus!!!

    Torque for a 401-402 is 330 foot-pounds of touque.

I'm thinking that the 6BT is something like 400-450 foot-pounds.

    Might just work.

I hate that the transmission is set up with the main on the right, aux. on the left.

It's like driving a two stick (don't make me say it!) Pete!!!

I guess I'll just make do!!!

    LOL

I put a bunch of miles on 4X4's but changing back and forth really screws up your mind.

Think you're going for a 900 RPM shift and only get 300!!

    And that's the wrong way!!

Trans will have new bearings and seals, and won't put a lot of miles on it.

I now think it will work!!

    Thanks again guys!!!

    And to hatcity - - -

Don't got a momma to explain anything to!! Life IS good!!

  3. Before I get in a pinch, I need some input from the great minds out there!

I have a "Baby Quadraplex" that came out of my B-421.

It had a 401 gasser engine.

    I want to put a 6BT Cummins in an 'E' I've got.

Will the transmission hold the 225-235 horse power of the Cummins??

Don't even want to put it in if there is any question of taking the torque of the 6BT.

I've got a Triplex and a 18 speed Quadraplex I can use but they are HEAVY!!

I'm sure they take the abuse, but man are they big!

  4. The PLAN was to drive the Dodge to California, load the pick-up on the trailer and go home.

    Yes, it started.

    Yes, it runs good.

Yes, it stops, and all fluids were good.

    No, there were no lights.

No, there was no belt on the alternator.

    (fixed that)

After putzing around 'til dark, I loaded the Mack and got out of there.

This truck is going to be my toy hauler.

I've found two Sleepers (5 footers) and one or the other will be on it.

Don't know if it will stay with all three axles.

    Two should be plenty.

I do need an Aluminum Tank - - - 60 gal size, if there is one to be had.

And if it becomes two axle, I'll need a front axle with brakes.

And that Dodge only had to pull the Mack 1,000 miles.

Averaged 9 miles per gallon, but wore the back tires somewhat!!!!

    (Somewhat - - -???? What was I thinking?)

  5. Here I was, minding my own busness - - -!

    1971 Mack RL700L

    335 Cummins with Jake brake

    Mack 18 speed Quadraplex

Mack 44,000 lb Diffs and camelback suspention

    Air ride seat

    10.00 X 22 tires on aluminum wheels

    The tires on back are 10.00 X 22 with two never-been-mounted 11.00 X 24.5 drive tires!!

    Starts and runs!!! WOO HOO

Cab has small spot of rust but no cancer!

    Wireing is toast!!!

Breakes are OK but may need some work before putting on the road.

Paint will need some "Touch Up".

    Lights suck!

And the air horn won't work.

  6. Hey Bigen!

Just read your post and replied to your e-mail.

I've got two 'E's but both are bigger.

The one is an 'EH' and the other is an 'E' something or other.

No title and the plate is kinda bad.

Bought it for a parts truck only.

    Got:

    Fenders (2 sets)

    Engines (2 1/2)

Cabs (1 good, 1 with lots of cancer)

    Diffs (3)

    Front axles (4)

    Transmissions (2-3)

    Hood (1)

    AND misc. bits and pieces.

And a deal you may not be able to refuse!!!!

  7. I'm working a contract job right now.

Will get me thru 'til Spring.

THEN I can get mine done.

All I'm looking for is something to chain a couple of trucks to when traveling to truck shows.

I'll put maybe 3-4,000 miles a year on it and the price is in my range.

(And I work cheap on my own stuff)

  8. Nothing yet other than the info I sent.

I've got more than enough tires and wheels myself.

    He'll keep me posted.

As I thing about it, there may not be flooring.

The drop is only a foot or so - - - still in the think mode.

    And would use 10.00 X 20 rubber.

    I've got several 9.00 X 22.5 tires and wheels, so I'm ready.

May not work for you, but the deal was too good not to pass along!

    And "NO" title!!!!

    That's about it.

If and when I hear any more I'll pass it along.

  9. Talked to a local guy that has his hand in a lot of pies.

I asked him where I might find a drop deck trailer CHEAP!!!

He has a line on a 40 foot drop deck that will go for scrap price.

Seems it has Dayton wheels (Better say spoke hubs, there are no wheels).

Can't find wheels to fit it and will sale for Approx. $1,500.00.

How many Dayton wheels do you have??

    Yea, me too.

I told him to buy all he could get (2-4) and I'd make sure he got rid of them.

A torch and a welder, and I'll have a 42-44 foot drop deck with dovetail in a week or two!!!
