The problem is that it isn't even a soup line anymore. It's a debit card-like thing (wouldn't want anyone to be embarrassed) that allows them to spend our tax dollars on cake, frozen food. Steak, etc.!!!

I, too, would be interested in learning more about how the L model cabs come apart. Mine is coming apart on its own- might be better if I know how to put it back together!

saw this video on youtube a while back, filmed in Massachusetts in 1993. Hopefully all those trucks are still in the same condition; I know there's a lot of Mack enthusiasts out east, but hardly and here in Ohio

My LF cab is rotted out along the floor in the back, too. I've heard rumors that someone was manufacturing replacement panels for the L, but I have not been able to locate them.

@sam- not sure what your plans are for the l model, but I'm looking for sheet metal for the rear of a l model cab. I'm in NW Ohio near Toledo...

I agree, other dog, seems like people are mighty important these days, needing to have a phone stuck to their head from the second they get into a car until they get out! At any rate, for those few times when I NEED to talk on the phone while driving, I use a Jabra headset. I've tried other, cheaper ones, but for my tractor/truck/heavy equipment induced deaf ears, the Jabra is the best!

That was a very interesting discussion. I thought it was a fire truck emblem to start, but now realize the difference. Will you post the pictures of the emblems that you mentioned? My 1950 LFT has Mack Diesel in an oval on both sides of the hood. I am told this was only for the trucks with lanovas in them. Not sure if that is true. As you know, most diesel L models have Mack and Diesel script emblems separate.
