  1. Well here it is...spent the day grooming the old Dog. Started bright and early, Repaired my door latch, washed and scrubbed and spent the better part of the afternoon goin at it with a buffer and compound, shined the tires, rattle canned the frame rails, this is the product. Whataya think?
  2. Thanks for the input Cummins, looking at it that way makes me wonder if its really in good enough shape to really go for it haha. If I were to get pulled over with it right now I think they'd throw the book at me. Guess I'll have to really think about it. Im gonna clean her up and snap some pics....I know these guys like pics!! See what everybody thinks. Should I pull it apart and start the full resto., or spit-shine it and try to enjoy it alittle bit right now....We'll take a poll I guess
  3. Thanks alot Doug Im glad you responded, I was planning on asking you specifically about this. I was out in the shop dissecting the passenger side door to fix my door latch, soaking some of my parts in WD40 now. Hopefully tomorrow I will get it fixed, pull it out and go nuts and get it cleaned up to shoot some pics. I guess Gulfway seems to be the one to look into, I'll give em a shout. The other thing im concerned about is age limitation with these ins. outfits. Im 23, I'll be 24 in August. Most of these places want you to be 25. Of course I have a class A and a squeaky clean record but that probably doesn't mean much to them. But anyhow thanks and I'll keep ya posted on the progress
  4. Absolutely I'd love to...Let me know when you all are heading over.
  5. Name: Mack B67 (1964) Date Added: 19 February 2012 - 05:44 PM Owner: B67 BullDog Short Description: None Provided View Vehicle
  6. My current title doesnt have anything in the Title Brand line. Im assuming then that this is just a straight up title and when I apply for the Antique registration Harrisburg will issue a new Title with "A" "Antique" designation?
  7. Hahaha now now gentlemen, check yer guns at the Sheriffs before ya head into the saloon. I appreciate all the information that I've received so far. And personally I haven't found anything wrong with any of it.
  8. Sonofa.....You are correct. Just checked one of my titles here. Great another hoop to jump through....
  9. Ha....Yes Barney, thats exactly what Im afraid of. Im guaranteed to get the young buck fresh out of the academy looking to prove a point.
  10. Yes I am unaware of an "Antique Title" also Leversole you are not alone. I think he is referring to the registration. First get standard Reg., then apply for antique Reg..... That would make more sense
  11. Ahh right to the source, walked right in the den of thieves. Brave man.....I hope you were armed hahaha.
  12. I have a trailer of 3,450lbs unladen weight, w/2 axles, w/12,000lbs GVW. I paid a one time $135.00 permanent registration fee for it. Of course this isnt a low boy with air brakes, not even a gooseneck, but I do see your point as far as registration goes on the trailer. Im concerned about the definition of "hauling cargo" in general. According to the Antique plate info it says you MAY NOT haul cargo...I wonder if that means you cant haul a trailer....period? P.S. And yes it is required to have an annual inspection performed which costed a grand total of $35.00 this last year
  13. Thanks so much for the info Joe I appreciate it. I'll have to look into this. And yes good tip on the paint. I was going to take my buffer to it and see if I can bring back that green paint for now. Did you just use a local notary for the plates or one of the "John Yurconic" type branches?
  14. Beautiful...I printed that out for my files. Now I wonder if you put a lowboy behind it with another antique vehicle is that considered hauling cargo? Or is that still within the law
  15. Im checking out Penndots site now but having trouble finding info pertaining to us....could I bother you for a link? Again thanks for the info.
  16. Heres a question for you gurus.... I know this has come up before I recall reading up on the subject and I also know that this is one "Slippery Slope" and will probably always remain that way. But how are you gentlemen licensing these old rigs and insuring them. Provided you are not running a commercial business, do not have P.U.C. numbers, fuel tax stickers etc.. etc..Personal use only. Heres my situation. Many of you have seen pics of my truck...Its in decent shape. I also have a 1968 Dodge Charger that I'm in the middle of restoring. Therefore I dont want to tear the Mack apart in a million pieces and have the two projects going at once. In the meantime I am considering playing around with the Mack as is. It has a certain cool factor to it in the somewhat rough shape its in right now. Id like to make the rounds at the shows with it just for the hell of it. This is an issue that will need to be dealt with now or later after a full resto. Id like to spearhead it now because its been weighing on my shoulders ever since I brought the truck home 2 years ago.....its been sitting idle too long. And I need to find out if I can throw Antique plates on it, get classic insurance and call it day. Or am I always going to be at risk of being nailed to the wall by the D.O.T. if I do so without having all the proper commercial garb that usually is required with commercial vehicles. I suppose this question is aimed at Pennsylvania residents specifically, because some states are "funnier" than others when it comes to license, registration, ins. etc...etc..so Im concerned about my own home base here and at this point im NOT even thinking about crossing state lines because Im assuming thats another can of worms.....but I dont know.... Any insight would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.-thanks in advance -Shawn P.S. Yes I have a Class A CDL and I drive a Mack for a living
  17. The dyno room! Shucks I dont think I saw that one....well next time then lol. I was just goin through my pics again and realized that your baby was hiding in the corner back there. I overlooked it the first time... Thats one sharp truck.
  18. I imagine that was the best and most politically correct response you could've given that fine lady....Im sure lesser men with less self discipline would've simply told her too....well you can imagine what we are all thinking on your behalf.
  19. Sweet Ride....that baby is in good shape. Cheers
