  1. That's one beautiful R model! Don't kid yourself, the blue is TITS! A beautiful shade and it will definitely turn heads and you will get many great comments. Congrats.

  2. Wasn't the name of that steel company Keystone Steel at one time? I lived not too far from there in the area. I remember the Cathcart Pontiac across from the steel company. My Dad had a truck lube business and he used to do the service on the trucks. I ran around that yard while he was working on the trucks. I can remember that area like Ewing Diner, The Atlantic Mills store, Korvettes Dept. Store and Colonial Cadillac. Thanks for jogging my memory.

  3. I started working part time  for the company my father was shop steward at, H.M.Royal in Trenton, N.J. when I was 15. I was hired as a truck washer for the weekend and every tractor and straight truck was washed by hand both cab and frame/wheels. The windows were also cleaned inside and outside and the floors were swept too. All of their trucks were parked inside an enclosed garage every night unless on the road. They were a chemical distributor and once a year even their van and tanker trailers were steam cleaned including the frames above and under and the frames and wheels were repainted. The fleet was all Mack including A, B, F, R and aluminum tanks and dry vans. The cabs were first Mack green with red frames/wheels and later years went to white cabs with royal blue frames. That was many years ago but they were always clean for Monday morning.

  4. I had one of these type edgers and gave it to my son when we went full time rving. It is a Craftsman with a Briggs&Stratton engine. It does a fine job on edging like your photo shows your "clean shave" on your lawn. I swear by them for trimming and better than a weed wacker turned sideways. Every new season I would clean, replace the oil, new spark plug, new air & fuel filter and new blade and we were good to go. The concrete sidewalk or driveway would play hell on the blades though if you keep getting too close.

  5. I agree with the takeover of a heavy truck company. How about they contact Volvo and bring Mack back to the glory that it once enjoyed. At least a true American icon. Oh and that picture of the 2025 LTL is about one sweet beast of a truck.

  6. Thanks for the replies everyone. She was such a joy to follow her progress on her B model with the family helping all the way. I hope someone or herself reads this and she can respond.

  7. At least in today's world it seems like most people will thank a vet unlike back in the  1960s-70s. After my discharge in 1968 it was normal to not display anything that would show your service because of the political atmosphere at that time during the 1960s and 1970s.
