Some guys from here was down there 3 years ago and said they lost money on the job. They said that like most gov. jobs the money was spent stupid. Too many inspectors and middle men and no hauling. He said the inspectors was the hold up. Just goverment supid nosence and i can belive what they told us.Some of the thigs they told me was for show and tell. Like on a 20 mile haul they would be held up for more than one inspectsion for as long as 2 hrs per load.
I'll be heading down there next week to find out more information. I have spoken to one company and was told i could not see the job site untill i signed a contract. Funny thing was i had only asked if there was an office or a person i could meet with.
I dont know much bout New Orleans, but I surely do like your truck, Let it loose,,,randy

Bringing back an oldie here! I was looking into this as well, does anyone have any information about New Orleans dump trucking?
-
Yes, most used a "'Signal-Stat" 500, or 900 series column mounted switch with two green indicators for the turn signals, and a red indicator for the hazzard flashers. All functions utilized the same bulb in the switch.
Rob
Yep, mine is the 900 series, the flasher was under the dash to the left. It's a two prong style and the problem was only a dirty connection. Works great now after a bit of cleaning!

Hey man, yeah i've been running one truck for the past year or so. It's an old '72 all black R model. I'm right across 370 from Revell, though i have never met him or any of the guys.

Welcome. Lots of good info can be found here.
Due to the above story, Rob now sleeps with one eye open.
Thanks man and yeah i would be too! I already found some good info on a problem i have with my '72.

Hello and welcome to the site, pretty sure you'll find some sort of entertainment around here. We like photos so don't be shy. I like your screen name, kinda reminds me of something I pulled on my wife. Late one night I "Let it Loose" under the covers and I thought that sweet young thing was gonna kill me within seconds, but she didn't. Instead I'm left to a life of misery and suffering, cause I inadvertantly bred the "Momma", which I'm sure you'll read about.
Rob
Good story Rob, glad your still alive at least. Haha! Thanks for the welcome and i look forward to the entertainment.

Well alright... thank you gentlemen!

Yeah i wasn't sure if it would have the same setup like some cars do or not. I will give it a look tomorrow and hopefully find it. I'm guessing these are the same one's you can find at a auto parts store?

My 1972 R Model dump blinker's will work and the hazard's come on, they just stay lit and don't flash. Does anyone know what controls the blinker and hazard's to flash?

I run a couple of Mack dump's around the St. Louis area, been in business a whole year now. hahaha! Anyhow, just wanted say hello.
