  1. Who knows someone good to rebuild these pumps and get a lot out of them? I have adjusted mine to the max and it is still not enough!! I put one of Dale Francis turbos on he says it should make 50-55 pounds and it makes 33 !! I have checked for boost leaks in intercooler and have none! Truck doesn't smoke much with this turbo so it tells me it is not getting enough to eat!!

  2. Take the primer pump out and right under it is a plastic seat could be wooden . When you get primer out see if it is in pieces if not take it out and inspect it !! There is one in both holes one under primer pump and one under nut beside primer pump check both of them ! Let me know what you find bet that is your problem!!

  3. I have 1988 super dog with 500 v8 and want to put a bigger turbo on it. I have seen guys talk about putting holsets on them and I think that is the way I want to go. I want 40 pounds of boost I run truck everyday I don't pull it !! I just want to know who to contact for a mean turbo !!

  4. It is from your truck walking (axles are moving left and right opposite each other) your bushings are wore out it is cheapest to get a whole new saddles with new bushing in it and put her on. Make sure you get u bolts tight they are supposed to be 1800 ft/lbs!

  5. Those motors have dry sleeves the coolant will not go in the oil pan unless through the head gasket!!! The v8 and all e7 and newer motors are only ones with wet sleeves!!! Does your motor have the cooler box on the side of the left side of the motor? If so does it have water lines going into it? I myself think someone got it hot and cracked the head It is def not a liner they are probly fine.

  6. Well not sure what I have gotten into here. I have gone from a freightliner mechanic to a Mack mechanic. My air dryer is blowing off every minute and 40 seconds or so. No noticeable leaks. Replaced the governor today. Nothing changed. After a lot of reading I am suspecting a problem with the unloader valve. I think this is a wabco compressor but not sure. How hard is it to repair the unloader in these? Cant find much literature on these like bendix has. I am getting a lot of water from the air tanks daily when I drain them. I checked the power to the dryer and have 14 volts. I omhed the two prongs on the dryer and could not get a reading at all. Does this mean the heater element is bad?

Mack does a good job of painting over id labels and etc to make sure you come to mack for parts. If anybody has a source to look up by vin please send me the part numbers and make for the dryer and compressor. The last six of the vin is 014310.

I know I sure would like to put my foot in the seat of the pants of the engineer at mack that dreamed up putting the dryer directly under the bunk on the frame a foot or so below my pillow. "Nothing but genuius" Sounds like a rifle when it goes off.

Any other suggestion or help with chasing down a solution would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Andy

  7. Well it is def not that quick release but I did do some more fooling around and when you have the trailer brakes realesed they dont stay on so that tells me that the tp valve is good but the air is releasing through the trailer service valve that is not right. What valve does it release through when you are bobtail the r12 valves and the foot valve right .I think I have a bad new foot valve maybe I am wrong I have been before

  8. I know it is the right switch I have owned this truck since it was new and may have replaced it a few times but the problem started all the sudden. The trolly bar is not pulled down .If I release the air at the light switch they dont come back on so I know that air is not leaking over to the service side in a chamber or valve..

  9. I HAVE A 1999 RD AND THE PARK BRAKE VALVE SOMETIMES WILL NOT STAY IN. OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO HOLD IT IN FOR A FEW MINUTES TO GET IT TO STAY IN.

Take the supply line off the park brake valve and see how good the flow of air is I bet you have a air restriction to the park brake valve!!
