  1. A friend of mine had his excavator sitting at his dirt pit over the weekend a few years ago. He had the key hidden but some trespassing kids found it and managed to get it cranked. Apparently the stuck the boom and stick as far out as it would go, and would swing it full speed into the face of the pit, until the boom broke completely in two. Then, one of the little jerks fell and twisted his ankle, and the parents sued my buddy! Talk about wanting to murder somebody...

  2. I've been doing some thinking lately... Does Mack offer the Granite as a glider? If so, I was just thinking how cool it would be to have a new truck with a mechanical E7. I'd spec it out just like my RD. 15.5 Ox Body bed, 24.5 spokes, 4.64 rears, and an 8LL. Has anyone ever done such a thing? I've swore I'd never buy a new truck due to all the crazy emissions crap, but a reman 350 in a Granite would be the ticket. Would it be possible to get the cab wiring and instrument panel to work without an ECM?

  3. I don't see a heater/AC box ?? nice looking truck

Correct. The Evans style factory a/c unit was pretty butchered up so I bought a NOS Kysor unit like they put in glider kits in the 80's. It's sitting in the sleeper. Haven't had time to install it yet. It goes with the truck.

  4. I've decided to go a different route and sell my Valueliner. 4 valve 350, T2090 Mack 9 speed, 4.17 Mack rears on Neway air ride. Factory 36" Able Body sleeper. Lots of new parts. I did a lot of work on the interior. Currently has a wet kit. Asking $12,000 with the wet kit, $11,000 without. I'll post some recent pics as soon as I get home in the daylight in the next few days. Thanks for looking! 870 995 3498

  5. Yeah, it's a whole other ball game when you go crossing state lines. I had a DOT number for about 2 months until I decided the headache and paperwork wasn't worth it. I stay in Arkansas now. I never made much money with a dump truck until I got hooked up with a place to get dirt, then started advertising and pushing fill dirt and topsoil around town.

  6. Nice Pics Randy . :) We used to do the same here in the back woods of Millington & T County . But if we were in Memphis tearing a house down it went stright to the dump because the Memphis /Shelby County Inspectors here would have a Ticket writing party .

Sounds like Here Jake The good ole boy system . Is that Helena/West Helena (Phillips County) Your talking about bud ?

    :mack1:

Yes sir, I used to work there with your buddy Tommy a few years ago.

  7. That's a nice hole! Does the state give you much trouble about that? We've done that for years, but a couple of years ago the city owned landfill hired an illegal dump inspector to go around and make sure everybody in the city limits abides and brings debris to the landfill for $30/ton. If they catch us outside the city limits they call ADEQ (Arkansas Dept. of Environmental Quality) on us. It's a big racket, if you ask me. All they've accomplished is now there's a whole lot of burned out houses that the owners can't afford to demolish.

  8. Man, I feel your pain! I've got two dirt jobs started and can't seem to finish either one for the rain. I get to work 2 days then I get rained out for 5. I don't ever remember it staying this wet for this long.
