  1. JT, If you are still in the market for a wrecker, Grones towing over on Rt. 9 in Lakewood used to have a B61 wrecker out front. I looked at it a few years back and think they wanted around 8,000 at the time. It was more than my budget allowed then so I had to pass. Hope the storm didn't beat you up too badly.
  2. The rubber piece in question is the torsion part of a suspension system for the seat. I have a seat that was mounted on the passenger side of a 57 b61 that has the same setup. I have no idea where to get parts for it but will check the seat for any markings or part #'s and see what I can find.
  3. Yes, the older version had 18 head bolts, while the updated version had 20. Look at the outer corners of the head on the intake side. One larger size bolt would be the older style. Two bolts the same size as the rest would be the newer style.
  4. Hi, I am somewhat new to this also, however, we have taken the spin-off oil filter setup from a 237 and mated it to a 711 that had the same luberfiner setup. It was more involved than we expected; oil cooler, water pump housing and all connectors and hoses as well as making a new water pipe to reach the connection to the water manifold. If I wasn't so far into it I would have just bought the new hoses etc, that needed to be replaced instead of trying the conversion. You also need to change the pressure spring in the mounting base that goes on the block. We consulted an old Mack mechanic and parts guy before starting this and he assured us it would work. I will keep you posted as to success or failure. I hope this helps. Greg
  5. Thanks for the info. I will check out the bolt pattern on the 711 heads and compare to the 237. I will let you know how we make out with it.
  6. Hi, I am new to this site. I have a 57 B61 with a 711 non turbo and a duplex trans. My question is this. I have access to a 237 block(spun main bearing) and have tossed around the idea of swapping the heads, injectors, and water manifold off the 237 onto the 711. We put the spin on oil filters and oil cooler setup on already and wanted the water manifold for ease of plumbing. The water manifold hits the stock injector lines,so we were going to use the 237 injectors but the barrel(body) is shorter and we would need to use the 237 heads to make them work. With all that going on, is it feasible to install the turbo off the 237 also, or is that asking for more trouble than it's worth? The truck will have a welding body and crane on it but will only weigh approx. 19,000lbs. when finished. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg
