  1. you just hold the override till your done then let go and it will shut down, if the override doesnt work to keep it running there is another issue. Im guessing from your post it restarts no problem and being a 2000 this is an ETECH so you have a couple computers to deal with, one in the kick panel and one on the engine. If you can see the clutch fork moving when looking inside the inspection cover but no pedal effort then yeah the clutch probably popped, gonna have to take the trans out and see whats up.

  2. Yeah I know of all the shops that do them around middle tn and no go on used stuff there, I can get a new Hendrickson steerable 13200 for 5450 installed but it seems high for how little i use the truck. Im still checking around on craigslist etc.

  3. There are 3 switches that should be on that truck the throttle arm switch on the pump (normally open), the clutch arm switch (normally open) and the dash switch (SPST toggle). With the throttle at idle the throttle switch is activated, with the clutch pedal out the clutch switch is activated and with the dash switch on the system is armed. There is no ECM to stop the engine brake under a certain rpm on an E9 like there is on an ETECH or any other electronic engine, once the dash switch is on the brake is on, turn it off its off. hope that helps but like the other guys said you cant set it up not to work at idle with the clutch pedal out and the dash switch on or it may activate under throttle on the road and that is bad mojo there.

  4. Sounds pretty straightforward really, convert the rear suspension to air ride, Id find an air ride axle in a junk yard with a slightly higher ratio to get you to shows a little easier, then the front you can get replacement air ride that uses one leaf and air bags on top iof the leaf, then just set it up with a switch inside for the dump section of the front and rear leveling valves and BAM! smooth air ride, better cruising rpm and slammed on command, lol.

  5. The ISC is a hard core little enmgine, actually all the C series Cummins engines from the mechanical 12 valve, 24 valve CAPS fuel system ISC on up to the Common rail ISC are just ridiculously reliable. Ive heard horror stories from the ISL, they got the cubes up to try to make a lightweight engine that was viable in baby 8 trucks but it was just pushed too hard. If I had to buy a fleet of medium duty trucks and could still get the CAPS system ISC or the first Common rail ISC there wouldnt even be a discussion about other choices. I dont know what Paccar uses for the PX-8 now (used to be a rebranded Cummins ISC) or if its still available but I had heard the C series was out of production in favor of the 6.7 liter with the 5.0 liter V8 taking the place of the ISB 5.9.

  6. They are exporters 1st dealers second. Most of their trucks come from auctions or junk yards and are rough, they spray new paint on em, put some Chinese tires on some and price em high hoping to export not sell stateside. They do not quote the correct specs for trucks either, they constantly show CHN Mack's with 18-20k steers, well that's a neat trick cause a 14300k is all our can get from Mack in any CH series. I would steer clear if it were me, I've called before and they are genuinely not worried about making people here happy they just want your money.

  7. Yeah, L10 is a Cummins and the L10 led to the ISL, was used in lots of buses, and the L10/ISL and M11/ISM are different engines that were produced at the same time one didn't take over for the other. The Mack E5 had two different versions didn't it, an 8 liter and a 10 liter?

  8. 4.17's will work fine with 11r24.5's, I run an Eaton 9 speed and 11R24.5's with 3.65 rears on my RW and pull a lowboy every now and then, it takes off ok with about 90k gross. I would like to swap to 3.87 or 4.17 but what I've got is working.
