  1. How often do you see a broken Mack ? I rarely do, now figuring the MP's are brand new not exactly the first you'd think to be broke Mike
  2. RECALL/Lacking parts: Quality Customer service, they would rather notify the customer then have break downs later making the rig look bad would be my "GUESS" . . . Rowdy: The saying goes "you'll wear out 3 drivers before you wear out a good Mack" Now i know why didn't the rough ride also take its toll on a few drivers kidneys ? Mike
  3. i think its more of a Valva issue, as the Local Mack dealer by me stock's B-Model parts they also restore 3-5 Vintage truck's every year, prolly why they keep the old truck parts in stock or ready to order They Like seeing the Vintage iron as they claim it helps them sell truck's according to the salesman it's easier to sell a new or used Mack truck when he can point out 2 or 3 Vintage truck's and say look how long they last, that Mack is 50 years old and that Mack is 30 years old n both run n drive perfectly, so why not buy this New rig here . . . I guess it's working they change over there whole lot 2 or 3 times a year ! Of course my personal saying goes " Old Mack's never die they just lose weight increasing payload" Mike
  4. Detroit !?!?!?! why would you do that to a Truck ? Mike
  5. Nothing makes you smile like the sound of an old war horse's first fire ! I know the feeling is a . .. I'm not sure how to explain or say it but its a moment for sure . . . Mike
  6. Ya i'm sure 5.77's n 10.00-20's ? is about the same as my 12.00-24's n 6.38's . . . 15th gear 65mph@2,000rpm The 711 with the turbo is a brute of a vintage Diesel 30wt ? I been running 60wt synthetic in my 711+T Diesel . . . Mike
  7. can they run 1 axle at a time ? Maybe th 6.34 is for low end towing then the flipped over to the 5.77's for the highway . . . I would make sure that both gears are matching before driving it, I'm guessing they are as it roll's unless like i said you separate the 2 rear's. . . Mike
  8. i spent a few hours out in the Bloody cold spreading salt . . . Mike
  9. Running out of fuel ? . . . No No that's was just a test, run the truck dry then fill it up to see how gallons it holds Mike
  10. So the Midliner is an Obsolete truck ? and now the parts are fading away ? I have a Mack dealer "Madison Mack Sales" just down the block i drive there 5min or walk there in 15min. . . But if the parts are obsolete then that ain't going to help and you say its an 8.8L motor ? I was going to Repower this rig with an 8.3L Cummins and found the engine was to large . . . So i'm guessing this would turn out the same, I have no complaint's with the Gas engine it's just 56 years old, should i ever need parts or a rebuild i'm bit concerned about availability of parts to do so . . . I guess if Ain't broke don't fix it eh ? Mike
  11. I'm trying to find info on the Mack Midliner Power plant's. I'm looking for Horse power n torque ratings. Cubic inches or liters of displacement. Durability / Reliability. I been thinking of repower my M275 with medium duty mack power plant n trans. . . Mike

  14. My Mack was only $500 END+T 711 Diesel aka the turbo charged non turbo diesel, 2 sticks 15 speeds, 6.38 gears and 12.00-24/12.00R24 tires . . . Mike
  15. Very nice short n stout like my Mack . . . Mike
  16. That's because of GM's soft comfort ride suspension, once loaded they SAG alot ! the 02' 2500HD used to sag bad when the enclosed mowing trailer was hitched to it, it's only a measly 12,000LB's, So i had a 3leaf helper spring's added to each side on the rear and had a leveling kit done to the front now it hardly notices that 12K-LB trailer, and that 8.1L Vortec V-8 pulls it as tho it wasn't there Mike
