  1. i have used the truckomat at larame,wy. got good service there, but they have wyo tech diesel school about a mile away.

i think they get young guys that enjoy their job.

from now on its them or mackpro.

  2. spent 4 hrs overseeing the cleanup, another free meal, allong with ass kissing.

got offered another free prem. pm. told the guy i got one of those in my truck allready, gona have to use it for ass wipping, cause you assclowns will never be close to a piece of my equipment unless you can explain the loose driveline after all the other bs

guy says i don't know what to say. i replied my point exactly.

  3. I will post more photos when I get it home.

you will like that hoist, cover keeps the grit out, tronion mounts to the bottom of the box, more stable

with the upside down desine all the grit falls away from the packing instead of into it.

    very trouble free setup.

  4. I would've come unhinged long before the drain plug fell out.

if it had been cooler, i would have just left at 4pm when thet hadnt started on it.

but with the heat it was very important to get my oil change before hitin them hills west of denver.

    truck comes first.

  5. grabed a load of trailers out of mt.pleasant,tx.going to vernal,ut. hot as heck.

with the 108dg temp i was thinking i had enough time to get an oil change befor i hit the mountains west of denver.

it was sat. morning, with only 400 miles to go.

sounds like a good idea. NOT

stopped in limon,co. at the T/A about 11am.

got registered in, it will be about an hr. befor we get to ya, swift truck just pulled in the bay. so i eat a setdown lunch at the cafe.

i came back at noon. they said we are ready for ya, just trying to find the driver to get the swift truck out of the way.

at 1:30pm driver comes threw the door grumbling why did you guys have to ruin my lunch. manager points to me, and says why dont you ask him? he has been waiting to get in that bay for an hour and half. the guy signs ticket and hauls ass. still all fun and games.

im not much on drivers lounge, so i get my little stool and find some shade.at 4pm they still havenot touched my truck.

im hot and impatient,so i get grumpy. ask manager do i need to play my rediculus card or what. so they get right on it. and throw in a trailer lube for my troubles, all is well, with plenty of time for del.

5:15pm i make it out with just enough time to clear the mountains befor dark.

damn glad to be outa that mess, i hit the road like i stole it. when three miles down the road, it shuts down. i look in the mirrors, it looks like the exxon valdees.

in my agravated state, i call and have a chat with the manager.

shortly thereafter, personal vehicals, and service trucks are swarming, with cases of motor oil and conming the area lokking for the oil plug. as i stand there looking at my truck with 12 gal. of oil, evenly dispersed and dripping from all the flaps and tanks.

3hrs. later with darkness looming, the manager has the task of explaining to me, why he is going to have to tow my truck back to the shop, and wait for morning to get an oil plug.

found out limon means, LOST IN the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE

so they put me in a motel, offer me dinner.

so at checkout time i walk across the street, and find my truck not ready. not cleaned. and my easy going mood starting to change.

so 5hrs. and 400 miles later, they have produced an oil plug.

a half harted effort of cleanup, and documents that they fuckedup and will remberse me for the detailing of my choosing, a free premium service, some meal vouchers, i was ready to try it again.

manager followed me to my truck appoligizing, when i get there i turn and say, ive been a good sport about this, humer me and let me see someone put a wrench on that driveline.

and that is when biggen came unspooled.

the same IDIOT that left my oil plug loose had forgot to tighten the driveline, after removing it for towing.

made it to vernal,ut. by 4am. but for some reason couldn't sleep for the 4hrs. waiting to deliver

and that my friends is what you call a CHARLIE FOXTROT..........

the manager bill, is a very hard working honest guy, called me the next day, got it setup with corp. so i can go to any T/A for immediate remburse on the cleanup.

could tell by his voice, he was ashamed of what happened on his watch.

i feel sorry for him, my ordeal lasted about 34hrs. he has to be responsible every day for a bunch of assclowns, that are only working till they can figure out how to get wellfare checks.......

  6. I'm trying to remember on mine I now I wired the under dash lights on the one with the battery. I kinda think my son did the wirering and there was a post in the fuse and breaker panel that turned of and on with the switch. On another post you had mentioned doing an upgrade on your ecm to give you more power at higher elivations just wondering if you've tryed it yet as mine runs terrible when I get into Colorado and Alberta to. Dennis

put on new steer tires, and altinater, bought a cabinet and catwalk and strobe, becons, lightbar, last trip.

when mackpro gets his hands on it i know he is going to put a new air compressor on, and download that program.and i want him to install new jukebox.

im trying to steer clear of him for another month.

  7. The extra gap you see under the cab and the sleeper is because the titans heavy duty dual air cleaner system is located under the cab rather than under the hood. It raises the cab up higher which from the titan i test drove at our local dealer gives a pretty commanding view of the road. I liked looking down at all the little trucks i passed!

As far as the chassis being some sort of stolen cob job stepchild of volvo i have to disagree with that one. last i checked the titan has heavier duty double and triple frame options and heavier crossmembers volvo never had, along with mack only front and rear axles and mack transmissions. Totally unique Mackfront end and cab makes this about as uniquely MACK as anything else. Look at the Australia titan if you want to really see where it came from.

I hear you that a bigger sleeper, and axle and hood options might be nice but dont forget what the titan really is. I dont see it like an over the raod tractor at all with a big sleeper. A titan doesnt compete with a lonestar or most OTR petes. Its meant to be a heavy or severe service specialty hauler or an off road logger or heavy dump where a small sleeper does the trick for most customers, or no sleeper is needed at all. I wouldnt think a couple inch hood length difference would sell more trucks.

IMHO i think a well optioned Titan looks about as good as anything out there and you can get other wheel types if you order them I think. I hope I dont sound preachy but i guess I'm just showing my colors that I love MACKS and am a Titan fan!!!

i have a rawhide i run coast to coast,i am in no mack land as much as anyone, i am a mack lover all the way, the styling engineers dropped the ball on the titan, it looks like a cob job.

  8. Here is a picture with a sleeper skirt. Sleeper was added in the Mod Center.

wich one looks like the stepchild

    (valva says to mack)

it cant be that hard to put a ch cab on this chassis, here is some nails and 2x4 blocks and a couple hundred bucks, make it work or do without

no offence intended, just the way it appears to me.

  9. the big shops generally use a big type special jack for tire, and hub removal,,but you can put a board slide it under tire and put abuncha grease on the board then raise the truck just so you can just barely turn the tire on the board then have a guy give you a hand pulling the whole thing straight off the spindle sliding it easy on the greased board,,,just a little helpful hint, works like a charm if you do it rite,,also put a little grease.on bottom of tire.good luck, bob,oh have that other guy bring beer, lol. :thumb:

old street sign works even better.....

  10. This truck has two seperate problems. First is the water temp will only run at 150-160 all day. The fan kicks on countless times. Could this be a stuck therostat or a fan clutch issue? If so, will it hurt to run it for another day till it gets fixed? The second is the brake lights are stuck on. The foot valve is not stuck. Cleaned that up today and lubed the trettle. The brake lights go out once the key switch is off. Any help and suggestions are welcome. Thanks

as far as the fan kicking on countless times, sounds like overcharge on freon. see how it does with the a/c turned off.

high head press.or head press.switch will make it kick in exessive.

i would call the temp a good thing, lots better than 210. mine runs around 160,170 but i had an overcharge issue with the a/c that kept it around 150, fan allways kicking in.

    hope this helps.

  11. i was demoed an 04 460 18spd triaxel from f@c in st,louis, thing ran like a freakin dragster,i smoked everything in town with it.

but later heard it had a demo engine program, and would be detuned at first service.

is there any truth to that???????????

fan was loud as hell, with that kind of performance, i didn't care

  12. What is it used for? Cleaning sidewalks and parking lots maybe? Just curious, power tools are always cool.

    yes

i used it to vacum my yard, did a very good job.and it has a diesel engine.

wish i knew how to add a link, they have a vidio that is cool.
