  4. FireMack i had an 81 GMC Brigadier Tandem tractor w/ an 8V71 (318) Detroit & 9513 road ranger, duel exhaust (w/ 2590 CASE Tractor pipes on mufflers) double frame, 187"WB. W/ knuckleboom crane w/ 2 line wet kit & 11R22.5 TIRES ON Steel Budd Wheels . ole Big JIM Sounded sweet under the lowboy, log trailer & 24' Palmer dump trailer or when i operating the knuckle boom crane changing out Duals on the IH 1066 Farmalls we used to pull dirt pans, landlevels ,disk & sheepfoot rollers with . we also used the knuckle boom to change motors out & etc it came in handy doing mechanic work & sounded sweet doing it. ;)

  5. & since i was raised around the ole 9500, Brigadier, & General esp w/ Detroits in them here are 2 of my favorite videos w/ Jimmy Brigadiers & Screamin Jimmy motors

    (6V92)

    (Shifting a 671 part 1)

my granddad had a man work for him 25 to 30 yrs he could make lil jim (our 74' GMC 9500 S/A TRACTOR) Sound just like the video of the 671 in the Brigadier

that drivers dad worked for my granddad also for close 35 yrs to 40 yrs & could make our 79 Brigadier tandem dump w/ the 6V92 IN IT SCREAM . Thats why i like the video of the blue brigadier w/ the 6V92 IN IT .

LONG LIVE THE SCREAMIN' JIMMY Detroit Diesel .

Im partial to the ole Jimmy motors & Jimmy trucks as my family owned & ran them w/ the bulldogs & Acars too .

  6. Would rather had the U Model Service truck than the 1 ton GMC & 1 Ton Ford Service trucks i had in the family excavating business. 1st thing id done was put a 2 stick 6 spd or air shift 6spd or 7spd in it for the on/off road use . like having that extra low gear for soft ground . ;)

    :mack1:

  7. Couldn't tell ya what they cost. but im sure they got the name right. i just use what the boss buys & get paid to use em in the shop & on service calls. ;)

as far as getting off topic its getting deep in here id better go put on my chest waders i coon hunt with on .

Lol Trey I wouldn't be surprised of ANY PICTURE Tom (other dog) has . :loldude::o:D

  9. 1st let me say :WELCOME: to BMT . Your in the right place We all have :MackLogo: fever here ;) . (ITS A FEVER I WAS BORN WITH Being named after a B model ;) ) There are plenty of folks here filled w/ :mack1: Knowledge.

get something to drink, pull up a chair & feel free to chat away on the fourms . B)

I Agree i think the 6B 5.9 Hummin Cummins would be a nice fit in a B-20 . & I agree w/ SuperDog ya may want change the rear end out. my Dad took a B422t s/a tractor w/ a blown mack gas motor in it & put a 711 in it leaving the 10 spd duplex & orig 6:17 geared rear in it . for what we was doing w/ "old dog" he was perfect he would pull anything ya put on his back he was just gear bound @ 48mph to 50 mph. (if we had to move a dozer to a job in Ms, we had to use our 74' GMC 9500 Cause lil Jimmy would run @ 67mph on the interstate down in Memphis)

keep us posted on your Bulldog & please post some pics when ya get time . & congrats on your find . :)
