Hi,new B61 owner here.I want to remove the trailer air lines from the junction behind the cab.Can anyone tell me the size/thread plugs I`ll need? I`m guessing this is an industry standard size. Thanks.

I don`t know what the crud is on these rims, but short of scraping it off,it ignores,in succession;Spray9,acetone,citrus paint stripper and Purple Power.Would steam cleaning work? Thanks.
-
They have them,Frank, thanks for the info.

Does anyone know of some decent used Dayton rims in the NNJ/eastern PA areas? Thank You.

I need 6,am in NW NJ,will travel.

Hi,is visible smoke from the road vent(crankcase) to be expected or is it indicative of excessive blowby?Would this be a deal breaker for a buyer who couldn`t afford an engine rebuild. The engine seems healthy otherwise. Thanks for any advice.

Has anyone found something from another vehicle that can replace the original, which is all but impossible to find? Thanks.
-
Thanks Frank,STTC in Bethlem has used rims and tires,I`m told.

Hi,does anyone know a source for these in the Allentown area or a reasonable hike from there? Could use decent used tires, will just be bobtailing a B61. Thank You.

I`d like to know what the 1962 B61 sold for.

Hi,is anyone bringing a B model to Macungie this year to sell?

Two days ago it could be had for $4.99/gal here in NNJ.Today it`s $5.76...WTF?

I should add that I know alot of people that can make large amounts of alcohol evaporate...still no word on the Unishift device.

I`ve read a few tales of an aux case cracking/puking,and hope this is a result of poor maintenance, and therefore avoidable.

I`ve about given up on finding a nice B61 s/a tractor and am looking at a B67 w/ Unishift trans. So this setup has an air cylinder that needs frequent water draining,as well as an alcohol evaporator? Is that something that you fill w/ alcohol on a regular schedule? Thanks.

What sort of mileage could I hope to get w/ a light spec 1961 B61,S/A,END 673,Duplex direct,4.66 dual reduction rear axle,11x22.5 tires, bobtail only.I also could use an explanation of "Dual Reduction",as per the rear axle. Thank You.

I thought you just built a garage and were ready to start the work.

I got quotes from $575 to $2000,some were clueless as to what a Mack B61 is,and what would be involved.I assumed any responders would be lowboy O/O`s.

Hi,I`m looking for someone who can haul a B61 T from Nitro,WV to Washington,NJ,in early April.I`ve gotten a bewildering array of quotes from Uship,Mercury and others, and lots of scary reviews from customers.Any suggestions or leads would be appreciated, thanks.
-
Thanks,h67,they had a B61T shop manual for 1962,so I bought that. They also have a parts book from 1966,don`t know if that would be a necessary addition to the service manual.

I`ll be taking delivery of a 1961 B61 T in early April, and have been looking for a service manual...they seem to be unobtainable.I`ve looked on ebay,Troxler`s,and other lit sites and came up empty.I have the build sheets from the Mack museum but they didn`t respond when I asked about a shop manual.Any leads would be appreciated, thanks.

The turbos in cars from the 60`s were routinely having to be replaced long before the engines were worn out.Is this true of the turbocharged 673 engines from the B era?

Thanks.Oddly, when removing,a 15/16 wrench on the flats was too small,a 1" was too big,a 23mm fit perfectly.Would there be a metric version of these fittings?
