  1. Still looking for a 50 gal? square driver side fuel tank. Also looking for a usable or fixable bumper and bumper brackets. Id like the brackets to be decent but send me pics of what you got as far as bumpers. UN-Painted steel is just fine for me. DM or Call 484-225-oh-five-six-one.

    Thanks

So I bought a locally famous truck I believe it is one of the 300 R Models painted gold back in '73 to promote the Maxidyne 300 engine. If the Mack Museum ever re-opens I'm sure they can tel me for sure. There's plenty of gold paint everywhere that's for sure, I wonder if W Smith cartage painted their chassis gold back then?

Maybe think about removing one of the clearance lights or a horn in search of white paint. That may be the telltale evidence.

  3. Not so much historic correctness, but more time period correct. I dont need the exact hitch it came from the factory with. I realize parts get changed over the years. I'm looking to give the appearance of a working truck that came out of the mid to late 60s that was used daily but taken care of. While I appreciate the amount of work put into an immaculately restored truck, I can't do that level of work for so many reasons. I'm more of a good running dependable vehicle restoration with as many period accurate details as I can. If the tree farmer next door asks me to spot a trailer for him, i want to be able to do it without fear of mud or a scratch or chip.

  4. This is very close, or is the speedometer Watts sells for a replacement to fit the B models. The speedometer works but wasnt used for more than 5-10 minutes. I went back to the chrome rim gauges. I also have the fuel level, water temp, and oil pressure gauge (not pictured but for sale). The air pressure gauge's needle fell off but if you buy any of them and want it, you got it. All the gauges match so im guessing they were bought at the dealer. Not sure what the other 3 are worth, make me an offer on one or all, or trade for something I need for my B61.

List of stuff I still need. Long ear dog, driver side fuel tank, aluminum headlight rings, B61, thermodyne, diesel emblems, exhaust stabilizer bracket for cab, bumper brackets, or ?

  5. BUMP

Mack branded radio. Unsure of working condition. It came in the box of parts that was inside my truck. Dont need it. Make me an offer, or trade for something I need for my B.

  6. What would've been some standard options for a single axle truck back in 1959? Would a mechanical slider have been something that was put on a single axle? Or was a rigid mount the most practical. My truck has the holes for a rigid mount but was tossing around the idea of a slider to cover up some of the bare frame. The truck will never again pull a fifth wheel trailer, possibly in the future a ball hitch will be added so I'm installing the wiring before it hits the road.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Looking for a driver side headlight panel, plain steel bumper, and parking lights. If the parking lights come in the headlight panels, I would be willing to purchase a set. The closer to eastern Pa the better.

    Thanks

  8. A friend "sold" this to me last week. It came with the front end he has displayed in his yard. We both thought it would fit my B61 but the outlet is on the opposite side. Possibly a gasser radiator. He told me to figure out what its worth and that would be the price. Brass radiator with steel brackets...weighs 75lb. The top tank has a crack about an inch long, and the front corner supports, along with the driver side mounting bracket at the bottom is rotten and pulled loose, but it has the fan shroud. Any interest? I hate to see it scrapped. If no interest, it goes back to him to decide its fate. I would also be interested in trading for parts that I need.
