  1. Post some pics sounds like you’ve got some progress done
  2. I’ve painted the engine it was the only gold spray paint I had now it’s in the frame next up is adding the radiator and the wheels and painting the interior.
  3. I’ve wondered where you’ve been. Maybe you’ll get some “me time” and work on the DM800 model.
  4. Thanks for the compliment I appreciate it. The 600 in the background was my very first Truck model I built in 1984. I only have the cab interior and hood left. I’m rebuilding it I might start a thread on it later it’s going together well. Maybe some day you can post that wrecker.
  5. Some more work on the DM800 mixer. Engine is done and some test fitting.
  6. I’ve been chipping away at this for many years finally about a month ago I finished the frame work and the Mixer. My wife bought me a MPC Mack DM800 at Hobby Lobby about a week ago so I am using it as a donor kit for the Cab, Hood, Fenders and other stuff. When I bought the kit about 26 years ago it was missing a lot of parts including one side of the hood. The look I’m going for is like the DM800 on the Box Art of the MPC Gravel Trailer. Red with a White frame and instead of the chrome wheels they will be White. I’ve always liked that truck. I’m thinking about 3 Red stripe bands around the drum.
  7. Crazy isn’t. Had to buy this one last January my old i5 kept dying and wouldn’t st charged. I’ll get some pics of my DM800 mixer soon. Did you get any bench time?
  8. I’ll have to watch that. I can’t remember that movie
  9. Ok thanks. Hope you get some bench time on yours today
  10. Hey Bob would you be offended if started a Mack DM 800 Mixer thread? I’ve been picking away at it for several years now and like to get it done. This is your fault anyway tempting me with yours 😂
  11. I also have several 1/32 Mack’s I need to finish. I have a B61 that’s almost done I think I’ll start a thread on it. I also have a nice Mack RS700L wide grill that’s almost finished too. I won’t start a thread on it until I get the B61 done.
  12. Alright! I have to go Dump trucking but I’ll be checking in
  13. Me too. My brothers didn’t want anything to do with trucking but the middle brother is a truck nut like me.
  14. Yeah they loaded that truck up with chrome
  15. Same here always like to listen to the stories how my Great Grandfather hauled freight to Boxcars in wagons.
  16. Congratulations I’ve been legally driving 36 years now I’m a 4th generation truck dad drove 43 years mostly as a OO I’m going to surpass his years but the way I feel anymore I doubt it. Probably going to hang it up in 4 years or go to about 3 days a week maybe. I like that green on that DM800. Do you recall what color you painted it? We keep talking about it it’s going to come down from the closet 😂
  17. Like to see those are they on the net? I’ve seen the ones in the Mack Museum. I almost went to Allentown with my old boss where I retired after 25 years with him to see my last Mack truck built and the last few he bought to be made but I’m too afraid to fly. He was going to pay for everything.
  18. Yes I’ve really have noticed this year it’s slowing way down. My wife always says we can’t retire together she will kill me 😂. Glad I have this small farm to keep me busy if I do.
  19. Lost of Mack Books out there 😂
  20. Yeah I’m finding that out when I built a few frames from the DM600. The molds are wore out. I’m a little nervous to start the DM800 seem lots of YouTube videos tell how it’s a hard kit to build but I never had any problems when I built mine in 1986. Most of those builds don’t like using there brains like we did back in the day and put the effort in it. They want to shake the box and they have a complete model.
  21. I hope to be in 4 years if I can get rid of that trucking fever I have. I’m sure I will slow down quite a bit.
