  1. I hope to make it Mike, I had the wrong numbers for the serial number mine is B85F 1107. I’m still looking to add more rigs, I’d like an open cab mid 40’s or earlier.

  3. As a Retired FDNY Truck Company fireman, I have many years driving and operating that rig. Can you show some pictures of cab, drivers side should have a compartment to put the Outriggers and Jacks down, once you do that there was a push/pull valve to transfer power to the boom, some rigs had a switch at the pedestal so the Chauffeur could control the boom or flip the switch and control could be taken over by the bucket. There should also be a large gear which a 7/8 or 1 inch nut that you could turn manually to rotate the boom in the event of power loss. The should also be a MT##### on the front corner or in the cab that was our job's vehicle ID number. Not sure where you live but you could stop by the shops in Queens and they may be able to give you some records. Enjoy it, they were a hell of a lot of fun to use.....except in the middle of February at 3:00 am when it's zero out and you have an all night surround and drown operation. Best of luck with it. Thanks all, Hatcity and 41 Chevy I'll have to put that show on the calendar I'd like to check that out. 609Albert I do live on the East Coast, Wilmington NC now, when I was up in NY I used to go to musters all over the North East I'm not to sure about down here though. I am on the SPAAMFAA sites, from what I've been reading there seems to be quite a bit of BS going on with being a member. 30+ years of the fire service and I've had my fill of chest pounding good O'l boy networks. I just want to enjoy and talk Fire Trucks or Trucks in general, I like them all. bulldogboy I think it's a replica, someone on the SPAAMFAA asked the same question. The previous owner (Passed Away) apparently grew up next to and buffed BFD Eng 21 his entire life. From what his son and others have told me he was quite the BFD Historian, he built his own Fully Functional BFD E-21 firehouse (Bunkroom ~ Poles ~ Chiefs Office ~ Radio Room and more) it was some place and he had it all filled with a massive Fire Department Collection. That being said I was unable to get any records (as of now) of either Truck or Car, I wrote to the Mack Museum and hope they can send me some information. I'd like to figure out how I could research it's true history....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All, look forward to reading up in the different forums and learning more
  5. Thanks Mike, are you looking for the last 4 that's ~ 1028. I've been looking at buying for quite sometime now. I came across this Rig along with a 1950 Ford Flathead V8, 3 on the Tree Museum Quality Chief's Car too. The collector of these passed away and the family just wanted to sell it all. What's Macungie ?
  6. New here to BigMackTrucks.com, just picked up this 1955 Completely Restored to almost Museum Quality B85 Thermadyne Engine from a collector in New Hampshire. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment with her, and eventually my caisson rig ~ Being retired you no longer get the last ride on a rig, so I wanted to make sure I could. Look forward to reading and learning from the Old Timers here, and picking the brains from those of you when I come across something I need help with. Look forward to running across some of you at different shows or musters.
