I don't know of any L or B for sale in my area , you can call Matt Phalfs in Ct. ,the last time I was up to his place he had 2 L pumpers in his bone yard and lots of B macks.

I guess you are not looking for another L fire truck as another L or B mack you can use the parts and easier to find.

anyone know where to purchase the stainless steel ball and clip type chain that attaches to the 2 1/2 caps and back to the pump panel?

try not to be discouraged over a deal gone bad ,keep looking and you'll probably find a nicer one.

Speaking of the intake under the cab doors my 'L' has that on both sides, I have a short section of 21/2 so the driver could hook to the hydrant by himself ,neat idea.they are gated of course.

electronic ignition by petroncis is simple to install ,you have to know if you have a negative or positive ground system on your Mack, most had positive systems. let us know what the problem with stalling out is.

Harvey is the authority on mack fire apparatus ,well respected and author of several mack apparatus books.

Nice looking truck, but the first thing you gotto do is cut the roof off the cab..... just kidding ,I have a LS85 1954 last of the 'L's ,oh open cab of course.
-
just saw a news blip on the Fire/Rescue site said fire started near the shoreline (charging cord into a truck).

looks like the mack didn't get damaged thank GOD ,I saw the video of the fire ,looked like a lot of damage , but I'm sure you fellows will pull together and rebuild and improve your station.
-
I believe in Harvey Echard L model book their is a photo of a semi open L with a back seat. If you could dream it, MACK would build it.
