  1. Thanks. Aren’t we on the same Ford forum? 🙂 Anyway, the MR is at Mack for other issues and when it gets back I guess I’ll tackle the ac. I moved that operator to a pump on a t800. Today was his first day with it alone and evidently something in the engine let loose and found it’s way into the turbo. Large invoice ahead. 😞
  2. How can I get more air volume out of this ac? I know that coils need to be cleaned but does it work to add a booster fan inline somewhere or does that cause some problems with too much air across coil? Also it would be nice to reroute some air and build something to have it blow on my face more.... anybody tried this? I could build out of steel or maybe have a housing 3D printed.
  3. Would somebody have the part numbers to change exhaust manifold to the pre ai style for an MR? We had to have the camshaft replaced by Mack due to scoring on it so they put the older one in it. That’s been some months ago and I personally drove it today for the first time. It may have a bit more power but it’s hard to compare it after all this time. Now I’d like to change the exhaust manifold. Do I do the ends too or just the center piece?
  4. Also, my truck has the fuel line plumbed out of the end of tank at bottom. I’m wondering if I’m picking up a lot of trash this way. It seems like filter would get more and more plugged though.
  5. Could a weak check valve on fuel return line affect my engine power?
  6. Thanks. I found out the engine I was interested in doesn’t have engine brake so I guess I’ll pass.
  7. I’ve found an ai300 with much lower hours than my poor running 400. Are there physical differences between these engines besides injector nozzles? Are the pistons etc going to be different?
  8. Does this sound right to you guys? IMG_1203.MOV
  9. They changed the pump at front of engine and the regulator. They also programmed it to 400 from 350. I picked it up today. It’s better but still not as good as my heavier pump. It runs warmer too which doesn’t make much sense to me. What’s my next move? They put stock injector nozzles in. If I change to older style manifold and 5” after turbo will this help with back pressure and maybe some heat?
  10. They’ve changed the injector nozzles. And it still has low power. Fuel pressure test shows good pressure at idle but doesn’t go as high as it should when idled up. Any ideas?
  11. They did an injector cut out test or some such thing and it appears I may need all new nozzles. I suggested they change to 460 and change manifold and turbo too. 😄
  12. Which non ai manifold do I need for an MR to swap to free flow and s400 turbo? Will it be the same as the one Log Dog used?
  13. Thanks. They ran the overhead today... thought maybe it would help and help with rough running. It didn’t need much adjustment. They are going to check pressure yet.
  14. It’s an MR. Hopefully figure something out Monday
  15. I think he does, he just meant I wouldn’t get the full benefit without changing hard parts.
  16. Yes. Along with turbo, injectors, and go to 5” exhaust from the 4” to help get rid of back pressure. We will see what happens Monday at the dealer. Maybe it will get woke up. The truck runs a little hotter than my larger one so fan runs and sucks even more power. I hope to get that resolved also.
  17. Mack dealer said it wasn’t possible to turn into a 400 without changing parts. edit- I dropped it off at Mack today and he said it could be reflashed but to really get the power you need to do the camshaft swap etc. So he was going to see if they could turn it up. I picked up my larger truck and it certainly runs better than the 350 even though it weighs a bunch more. He also thinks the 350 is missing a bit so we shall see what’s up.
  18. Yeah I read a lot of that topic. Good info. Truck should be around 56,000. I think the larger 2004 with the 400 at 82,000 or so would outrun it and I know the 2008 with 400 and 56,000 would outrun it. It runs really well.
  19. I bought another Mack MR with a concrete pump on it and wow is it a dog. It really struggles. I changed air filter and fuel filters and still very weak. I understand it’s got an aset ai 350 in it. Does anybody have a log in and could check whether my computer is up to date? I’ve been told the only way to get more power is to actually change some hard parts, like the camshaft. Being an ai I guess it gulps a little hot air. Is that my only option, to swap parts? Last 6 of vin is 031388 edit- year is 2006 no pyrometer or turbo boost gauge engine fan is very loud and runs a LOT
  20. My 2002 MR688 concrete pump is showing code 3-4. I’ve had the Mack dealer replace the sensor. It didn’t fix it so replaced the balancer pulley. Still no joy. It flashes on and off and typically stays on at full throttle. At idle it’s off. When my foot isn’t in to it too hard it’s on sometimes and off sometimes. Any ideas?
