  1. I'll say it one more time: A 237 DOES NOT HAVE NOR DOES IT NEED AN INTERCOOLER!!!!!!!!
  2. If its a 237 (ENDT675) it doesn't have a air to air cooler, air just goes straight from the turbo to the intake manifold. On the other hand, if you mean a ENDT 676 285 HP with the tipturbine aftercooler, then the easiest thing to do is visit a junkyard & get an air cleaner off a truck that had a motor of that type, it will have a separate element for engine intake air & one for tip turbine air. Then you'll have to rig up some custom ductwork to get it all hooked up. There was also a few equipped with a separate filter for the tip turbine which was mounted under the hood with a air scoop on the hood, though that prob. wouldn't be adaptable to a cab forward fire truck.
  3. Look at the valve covers. If they are the sort of flat looking aluminum ones, then its a 4 valve. If the valve covers are the rounded looking stamped steel kind with 3 hold down bolts on top, then its a 2 valve engine. theres lots of other differences too but thats the easiest way to tell.
  4. Anything that would fit thru the tailgate & even some stuff that didnt! I sold it in 2000, wish id have held on to it. It had a 300 with air shift 6 spd & 44k rears
  5. I had a 1985 DM686s with the scoop setup for the intercooler air, it also had the steel hood, it was originally a municipal truck with central hydraulics, snow plow etc. I was the 3rd owner, completely refurbished the truck in 96.Will try to attach photos if I can figure out the process.
