  1. Is that the rpm sensor? I have always had a flicker in my rpm Guage
  2. I replaced that also a few years ago and I did nothing to help at that time.
  3. I replaced that a few years ago, and I always listen for that click, I have good voltage going through it, that's also one of the first things I check.
  4. Hi Jojo, I appreciate the response and I will look that over again. I have looked at it and wiggled it all over and never got it to do anything to the truck while running. I have had no lights come on this time that it has started acting up. The only other thing it has done, I went to start it the other day and it didn't crank, just clicked like the solenoid on the starter clicked, I cycled the key off and it fired no problem the second try. I could try a new engine shutdown relay that sends power to the fuel actuator in the injection pump. I also want to locate the ground wire from the engine shutdown relay.
  5. Hi, I have a 1995 CL 713 log truck with a E7 427. The truck is again shutting down on me intermittently and fires back up after cycling the key off and back on, no codes so far and from what i can tell the dash/fan keep working so i dont believe its the auxiliary relay in te dash. I had a trend on here from 2017 when I bought the truck and had the problem, I ended up putting a fuel injection control module in it and it did not do it till this week again. I'm curious if anyone has any direction for me again this time. If I am run I am running the loader with the truck at 900rpms, cruise control on, it has cut off and came back to idle before it died completely. If it was a sensor I believe it would throw a light and code first, it doesn't skip like a damaged wire it definitely dies like you are turning the key off. And insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
  6. I have a 95 cl700 e7 that I have been having an intermittent engine shutdown issue. I borrowed a used fic module from mack and had the same problem. Took the truck back recently and they still are leaning toward the fic. They have no idea but think their module has the same issue as mine but as of yesterday they can not get my truck to run with mine but can get it to run with theirs, which I have never experienced that. @$2,800 for a new one im struggeling to take the gamble on buying a new one. Already have $3k into people trying to solve this problem.
  7. I took my truck to the mack dealer last week and they threw their fic module in and had me run it, did the same thing this summer and it didn't work. They know there is an issue with theirs just don't know what. It didn't solve my shutdown issue so I took it back and they couldn't get it to run with my fic. They are leaning heavily to trying a brand new fic.
  8. So after doing many hours of reading, looking at diagrams and such it is my understanding there is no actual "fuel shutoff solenoid " but rather a shutoff relay in the dash that sends power to the fuel actuator in the injection pump. When the truck is operating properly I can work the foot petal and hear the fuel actuator moving in the pump. When the truck shuts down and will not restart I do not lose power to the fuel actuator but I can not hear the fuel actuator moving. I stick a pin in the wire and test with a meter as close to the pump as I can to eliminate as much wiring as possible, so that being the case it would only make since the connector at the pump could be at fault or the fuel actuator in the pump? If it was an issue somewhere else in the truck there should not be power where I am testing because that is how the truck is shutdown, is that not correct? My thought all along was an issue someplace in the truck that the module was detecting and to protect its self would be my intermittent shutdown, but if that was the case I would not expect to have 12v to the fuel actuator. What is your guys take on that? Truck is supposed to go to the shop Monday where the guy doesn't seem to have a clue, after working on it here and there for 5 months.
  9. Did you have any luck with this? I have the same issue
  10. Thanks for all the ideas guys, the truck ran fine for two days, today it shutdown after an hour or running and again about an hour and a half on my way home with a load of logs. I ran it with the fuse removed that powers the cruise but it shut down so rules that out.
  11. If this process works, it will be the only consistency that I have come up with.
  12. Yea harnesses are a couple Grand. I let the truck idle for an hour this morning with the fuse out that sends power to the cruise control with no shutdown, the past two mornings it shutdown within 20-30mins. My plan now is to put the fuse back in, run it to see if it shuts down then pull the fuse and see if the light goes out again/ fires up. Bad part it also sends power to the clutch switch and Jake's.
  13. Haha, That looks like the diagnostic book that I bought when I bought the truck 10months ago. I pulled the fuse that Powers up the cruise control, I will run it tomorrow morning for a little while to see if it dies.
  14. So today it shutdown and the electronic malfunction light was on, I had over 12 volts going in and coming out of the fuel shut off solenoid. I hopped in the cab and flipped off the speed control switch, the electronic malfunction light shut off and the truck fired up without resetting the key.
  15. The only thing that happens is the truck shuts off, blink code 6-2& 6-3 show up but I do not lose any other electrical power.
  16. I barrowed a vmac1 and a fic module from the mack dealer and the problem continued. Its getting very annoying that's for sure!
  17. Hey guys, my 1995 cl713 E7 shuts off randomly also. I get blink codes 6-2&6-3 everytime. Usually happens once or twice a day. Almost Always restarts, sometimes i have To cycle the key off multiple times before it will fire up. 8 months and a couple grand later still no fix. And help would be great, thanks.
  18. Did you fix your problem?? I have the same thing happening.
  19. I am having the same issue on my '95. I have yet to find a fix, has anyone had any luck? I put a new relay in today and it has not done it yet but I have my doubts that will solve it.
