  1. Just got our truck back from a mechanic for a new transmission, clutch, exhaust temperature sender and related harness, low water sender, and conversion clutch cable assembly going from air assist to old style cable. As soon as the key is on, fuse 17 which runs the clutch switch, engine brake, cruise switches, and spare key power switch, pops instantly. We've checked all switches and related wiring. Please help with any ideas. Thanks. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
  2. We have 3 trucks with MP7 405s in them and bought a 2013 with an MP8 415 that we're actually scared to use because of our experience with the MP7. Engines seem to have decent power when they run and return ok fuel economy for the kind of work we do. All 3 MP7s have had multiple problems. Constantly dealing with sensor failures, oil wicking in the harnesses, one fuel injection harness, 1 complete turbo, 2 turbo actuators, 2 camshafts, 1 engine fan, belt tensioners, 2 transmissions, 1 egr cooler, and most recently a fuel filter base followed by a fuel hose from the crossover to the ECM cooling plate. 3. We miss our CHs. Still hanging on to 2 of them and they're the only 2 that need just normal service. 3 '07 MP7 Granites constantly in the shop. '05 CV Granite into for almost $30,000 and an '05 CX into for about $20,000.
  4. Should do all this to my 05 with the 370. Even with 4.46 gears and tall 24s it's incredibly gutless. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
  5. Sorry I meant egr cooler box not oil cooler box. Oil cooler box was on the 2005 Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
  6. We have 3 2007 Granites with MP7 405's in them. 2 tractors had around 120,000 miles and the 1 dump had 27,000 on it. Shortly after getting the dump, had to do synchros in the trans. Camshaft in both tractors, one injector harness got oil up in it causing a misfire. Replaced 1 egr cooler box, 3 turbo actuators, and we're constantly fighting electronic sensor issues with oil pressure and exhaust temperature. Just discovered another leaking oil cooler box and a major leak in a power steering box. Volvo has taken Mack's quality downhill. Our R models and CHs were money making trucks. 7. Yeah we've already replaced one injector harness on one of the Granite tractors and installed the two piece oil level sensor harness or pressure harness, can't remember which one but we're still getting erratic readings. That tractor just has the gauges bouncing around but never a shutdown situation. The other tractor sometimes has the shutdown light and beeper going off all day causing the driver to go crazy and sometimes it shuts it down entirely. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
  8. So the "fix" is to eliminate the exhaust temp sensor altogether?!? That doesn't make much sense. What about the rest of the sensors? Has anyone figured out how to keep oil from getting into the harnesses?
  9. So if you delete the factory sensor, do you install an aftermarket sensor and gauge? I'm guessing if you delete it then you also have to reflash the ECM?
  10. We have three 2007 Granites with mp7 engines and are constantly dealing with sensor issues. Exhaust temp with one and oil pressure and temp with the other two. We've tried the "updated" sensors and it's still a problem. With one it'll cause an intermittent shutdown and the other two the gauges dance around. No answer from the dealer other than try another sensor or bring it in so we can throw parts at it. Has anyone come up with a fix for this?
  11. We have a 97 ch that does this on occasion. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it only shows 20-30 mph. I've tried replacing the speed sensor, made sure the tone ring wasn't loose, and set the distance between the sensor and the ring and it's still acting up. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
