  1. I've always read in my Mack brochures that a gold dog meant pedigreed drivetrain. Yet in all  my years in trucking I have seen brand new Mack's with vendor drivetrains with gold dogs and all Mack drivetrains with chrome dogs. So I have no idea, LOL

Just saw this thread. I'm guessing you bought this truck from Jack Culbert. I remember hearing about it when it was for sale. I heard it sold way up north. Do you still have it?

It was up north here when I was going to get it. But didn't end up getting it. Took it in to a shop to get checked over and the engine needed a rebuild, they wouldn't safety it because they said the frame had rust under the fifth wheel plate, it had all kinds of electrical issues. If I had a lot of money to spend on it, it would have been a good truck.

Kinda wish I got it now. The interior was mint.

Who was Jack Culbert? Do you know anything about that truck Alex? I know it went back down to Sothern Ontario, but I don't know who bought it. But I was told it wasn't getting scrapped.

  3. In todays covid news.......a young guy in the maintenance dept at the mine here tested positive for covid. Sent home from work. Well turns out he can return because according to our Public Health Unit he isn't showing symptoms so he's good.

So it's okay to test positive....just don't be in the vicinity of him or you will have to quarantine and test negative after 10 days, LOL

    WHAT A FARCE, LOL

Anyway, here's what a smart guy thinks of all this.

Enjoy the new Kid rock song.

  4. I hear you. Remember a thing called the ice age and the flooding that made Noah build his ark? LOL

Kinda like the same thing that is going on now except we are on the warming cycle this time.

Like I said, glad I don't have many years left. The current tards that already outnumber us sane people are breeding more soon to be tard children.

  5. Hey, I heard on the news today that the climate change nut jobs did studies that show if they bring back the giant aardvark and giant grazing dinosaurs it would be good for the environment.

Well then, the government should just charge us a tax and produce them again, just like how they are going too use carbon tax to change the universe's climate. 😵

    Problem solved.

  7. Here comes the next hit to the supply chain.

Canada will require truck drivers to be vaccinated against Covid-19 before crossing the border as of Jan. 15, building on a similar announcement already made by U.S. regulators. The news comes even as Canada prepares to ease several other travel restrictions. As of Nov. 30, for example, fully vaccinated individuals who leave and re-enter the […] read more
  8. I can see it happening. That's why I got my vaccine against my beliefs. I'm not ready to retire yet and I have a job that is too good to chance losing. I believe it is going to get far stupider yet.

And speaking of government agenda's, I had to laugh last night. Had another winter storm with some wind. And as usual the power was out for hours and hours. Just wait until 2030 when  we are all supposed to being driving electric vehicles and equipment. They can't keep the power on now!! LOL

How will the utilities get out to fix the power grid when they can't charge their trucks and equipment, LOL

  9. Ya, I don't know what's going on with this world, but no point trying to figure it out because I'm just labelled as a conspiracy theorist.......that can make dimes stick to his arm, LOL (see my Nov 8th post.)

  10. So, my cousin's girlfriend tested positive for covid. She had all the classic symptoms..... a sore throat and a runny nose for two days. You know, kinda like a common cold.

She has to stay home two weeks then she can go back to work. No retest required.

Her daughter and anyone that was around her (that have no symptoms)......you must get tested, stay home a week and then you must get retested to return to work after that.

Does that make any sense??? I guess if you have covid it just disappears after 10 days, LOL

    PS.....all are double vaccinated.

In 1989 they were rolling out E7-400 mechanical engines. A company I wrenched at in Mississauga by the name of John Grant Haulage had 1 of 20 CH's built at Mack's Oakville assembly plant. (the only 20 Canadian as I understand it....Mack Canada serial plate CH613 #001020... I want this truck!!) Grant Haulage was one of the Canadian Fleets they use to test stuff out on for heavy loads like the 1000 series V8's etc. Most of the trailers were 3 and 4 axle.

the CH was built in '89 and had one of the first E7-400 motors.(mechanical) they still have the truck doing yard work and runs like a clock. Doesn't make sense that they would bump up an E6 to 400hp when the E7's were already finished field testing and in production for the CH roll out. The '89 Superliner may have had an early E7???

I agree here. Have never heard of or saw an E6 400, but ran an E7 400 mechanical. And had friends that swapped their E6350's for E7 400's.

Both the E6 and E7 mechanicals were awesome reliable motors.

I ran every year of Mack back then and I never had issues until 2000 and up.

  12. Here's a party trick for y'all to try. As you know I got my two vaccines (Moderna) against my will, forced by employer that pays me stupid amounts of money.

Someone told me about this today, so I tried it.

Take an ordinary dime and hold it to your arm where you got the needles. That dime sticks to me like a magnet only in that spot.

Ya, that outta be healthy stuff to have in you.
