  1. here is a haul of 22inch tires that I stumbled on last year. And I was needing steer tires really bad for a few of my trucks so I could keep the tube type 5 hand hole wheels. There were 5 sets of steers and they were radial to boot. I kept the 2 sets of Michelin and then gave the others to a few friends for what I paid for them................I should have kept them all but that is what friends are for right? The remaining were either recaps or odds and ends. They had been inside a storage van for 25yrs. and a scrapper stumbled on them and knew I guy that knew me.

  2. Schroyer out of Ohio has brought an axle back Jimmie to shows. I think it is a day cab. How about the ones that were on air ride front and back too? and I believe independent suspensions.

  3. Ever drove a Bighorn........not cool. that cab was not made for air ride seats, the front window is small, and that hood is just huge!. You could run over an entire family and not know it.

One of my first trucks was a Dodge with a big 413 V8.....I think. I was just a teen ager and I had it in a diesel shop getting some work done. Why I picked it up the mechanics were laughing, as they took an F model Mack front handle and bulldog and put it on the hood as well as used the DODGE emblems in the front that now read...........DOG. It was cool!

this is a neat site........... www.allpar.com/trucks/dodge/heavy-duty

if you have trouble with the link just google it and find it there. for some reason when it takes you to the site via the address above you cannot find the same link.

  4. I am sticking with the DOG over the CAT..........but I sure wish that the CAT would have bought the DOG. Just think of the V8 we would have today! but you know what they say wish in one hand and S)#& in the other.

  7. I think Mike got it close to right. Both the Yaworski collection as well as the Wellington are in about as good a hands as can be had in Gary Mahan!! We all are fortunate to have such a guy in the hobby.

It is obvious that the intent of the donation was to the NE chapter and the history of the region that the truck belonged in. Not some west coast location :) if you no what I mean?? I agree it should stay in the NE area or at the Mack Museum. Taking care of donor trucks is a big deal that costs money and takes a lot of volunteer time. I often wonder what will become of so many of these fine restorations in years to come not to mention just the collection of survivors that exist out there. Perhaps we should all consider donating to a fund that becomes an endowment to benefit the ongoing of collections.
