  1. Thanks that answers the questions, just have to ask Santa to swap the turbo gasket.
  2. So Santa brought me some exhaust pieces for the Superliner, so now I've taken out the turbo and see the ugly silicone gobbed on the oil return line and was wondering if there should be some type of O-rings on it? And when I unbolted the turbo base plate there was on 2 bolts holding the base plate down as there was only 2 holes drilled and tapped and 3 bolt holes that are in the base plate (and one bolt of the two was broke which made the turbo move around a bit)
  3. From the album: 1989 Superliner

Don't think the silicone is from factory.....
  4. A previous owner had unbolted everything along the frame from the cab back and put some kind of putty in between and still looks good. The brackets for the bunk didn't get done and can see a little corosion there but not bad.

  6. $17,500 Candian or about $13,250. US. Can't take possession of it until Nov as he's still hauling with it and will retire at the end of this month.
  7. Just made a deal on a 1989 Superliner with an E9 500. Only concern is that it has an aluminium frame but looks almost perfect. 883,000 kms on the truck and just over 100,000 kms on the engine. Did I make a bad choice???

  9. I would purchase a Rawhide/Superliner with the 16 litre if it came available. I hade the Volvo 16 litre in a 2010 model but went to the Mp8 in a 2013 Rawhide as I pull the big weights in western Canada. Sign me up!
  10. Saw an article in this same magazine that this truck is for sale:http://m.todaystrucking.com/september-truck-of-the-month-plum-mist-mack306-382-0871
  11. What kind of 13 speed? Eaton or Mack? I know with the Mack 13 you can cut the tab in the shifter knob that prevents you from slitting the low range and make it so you can split the bottom gears giving you an "18 speed".
  12. From the album: Superliner restore

Got the old dog home to it's new dog house today after purchasing it back in January. Put it in front of the trailers that the Rawhide pulls just for a laugh. 295" wheel base but has to be down to 244" to be a power unit. 3 hour drive to bring it home, rough as all he'll but couldn't wipe the smile off my face!
  13. First truck that owned was a 1980 R Model Mack 300+, with a 13 speed

  15. The sun visor came with the truck so if you order one for the "Rawhide " model you should get the same one.
