Congratulations , you scored a nice Superliner there.

Something's fishy about that truck. Title says it's 2 axle . It really doesn't look to be in the worst of shape ??? Maybe it was a glider
-
The truck's power divider could just be worn ?? I think on older Mack rears only the 200 series could be made with a cam and wedge type locker (like the power divider) in the center section.
-
Wouldn't a 700 series have a Detroit or Cummins in it ? whatever it is . it does seem to have a transmission in it.
-
-
Maybe it's carpal tunnel ?
-
That air cleaner in '73 ? Can't see anything bigger than a 237 in there. I don't think any were made with any transmission that would use that range valve 🤷🏻♂️

Waste Management uses capped 315s on drives. I've seen lots of roll offs and packers from The City like that too.

315s on drives aren't unheard of in the waste industry.

There's a shifter in it with a range valve . Little odd in a truck that vintage with that air cleaner

You need a divisable load permit. Without that you'll be whatever you can bridge. 53000 ? you probably have a truck with a setback axle and 17 and a half foot body. Most of those are around a 232 or 237

yup. if the pusher axle is not at least 9 foot away from steering axle center line to center line, it is not considered an axle by nu yawk bridge nazi's.
and they do not acknowledged manufactures weight specs either.
my T880 is listed as 86,000 GVW. the bridge cops say my triaxle is only a tandem because the pusher axle is only 8.5 foot center to center of the steering axle. i can only carry 11.5 ton for a total weight of 53,000 lbs and that Kenworth does no know what they are talking about.
You need a 268" wheelbase to get a decent permit on a tri-axle

I'm no genious, but the back half doesnt look like Mack to me... and if the shift knob represents the tranny.. it's too new to be in that truck. the frame splice looks nice but there are no pics of the inside of the frame rail's... Parade truck??? jojo
"looks nice" ???? it looks like someone who has no welder or access to one (lol) let alone it's a different size rail . I'm pretty sure no one in their right mind would put an inspection sticker on that.

I get the add is from a broker and all.....but somewhere, there's someone who did that to that truck. and the someone actually thinks there's nothing wrong with it . Let alone somebody probably paid for that .

The rest of that truck doesn't look too bad. Why would someone do something like that.... and be proud enough to display several pictures of it ?
-
That frame is altered ??🤔 how can you tell ? 😳

Business as usual . The people who are actually responsible for allowing this will never be touched....and not the employer . I'm think'n more like mayor pete

4.64s and an 18 is a pretty decent combination. 6.17s it'd too out about 60 mph
-
That old dog will be right over there where they discovered the omicron variant ..... and run for years (lol)
-
6.17s with an 18 😳 ?
-
Just an FYI....a engine turning tool for a Cat ( half inch drive one looks sorta like on a starter ) is the same one for these Macks

Coming along, this looks to be working out better than you were thinking. Which is a good thing.

Interesting rockers and tank on that truck.

Maybe a smaller breaker would work ??? (like 15 amp) when it overheats it'll trip and then come back on after it cools off . Might be enough to get stuff sliding off the glass. Certain areas ? those trucks can be a problem in just the right storm when it comes to keeping the glass clear. Or maybe a fan might be a better idea ?

They'd make it much easier to get the weight on the steering axle if used in dump application.
