  1. Just curious about your operation? If you are very light and run mainly flat land, I think 10th would work alright. My truck runs nice @ 1150 on the flats. Which would be 56 or 57 mph I'm guessing? Are you sure it's a 400 rpm jump to 9th? 1525 is too high for fuel economy imo.
  2. I agree with underdog. My last 2 trucks got the oil dropped at the first 5000 miles and then after put in 5w40 full synthetic and then it stayed in until an oil sample showed something abnormal to change it. Every 25 000 miles, change filters and pull a sample that is tested at a lab and run it. 150 000 mile oil changes were pretty typical. I have always used aftermarket bypass filtration as well however, and all of my trucks have been OTR. Just another opinion and point of view, that's all. I noticed the term "viscosity breakdown" I have never seen that in any sample of 100 000+ miles unless contaminates such as fuel are introduced. Base however will drop over time. It's just a matter of replacing a half gallon or so occasionally to freshen things up.
  3. I'm seeing you are dropping full synthetc @ 10 000 miles? If it makes you feel better then fine, but that's an expensive obsession. Where is the extended drain? Did you forget a 0 in the mileage? There is NOTHING extended about 10 000 miles unless your idle time is 85%.
  4. Yeah its the 505C+ however I geared it to run slow and I do. 57 mph.
  5. 505 horse/1860 tq, 13 spd Eaton, 370 mack rears. What did you order? Is it going to take 6 months to build? Apparently things are still back logged.
  6. Yup I dunno. Mack said it all comes as one assembly. Since it is not on my dime, that's just fine
  7. Just figured I'd update how the new Mack is doing. Up to this point the truck has performed very well. I am amazed @ the power of the 505c+, and I am also very happy with overall fit, finish and build quality of the truck. The only problem I have had is the purge valve on the air drier is malfunctioning. It makes an annoying whining noise, and blows of 3 times until it goes into unload. It's not the end of the world, but its not right. Dealer told me the valve alone cannot be changed and a new air drier is on order to be installed when I get home. Last but not least, running the I 15 corridor into California every trip and always 75 to 80 000 lbs gross, I am averaging 7.41 US mpg as a 30 day average from new. (13 spd Eaton) I am a very happy customer so far. Will keep the Mack community posted as time and the miles accumulate.
  8. Good call TimmyB! I belive up until the newest 505 C PLUS, all Macks and Volvos had that big torque in the top two gears only.

  11. It's a new suspension exclusive to the Mack rear ends. Google it, you will get a better explanation then I can give you. This truck is a 227 WB and imo it rides better then my 244 WB T660 that had the Peterbilt low air leaf and front air ride. The "plush" interior is the Deep Copper Grand Touring with the upgraded heated ultra leather swivel seats.
  12. Heres a few pics to prove it exists to the doubters lol. Specs are 2016 Mack CXU 613, Mack black in color and painted front bumper and reefer to match, MP8 505C+ engine rated @ 505 horse/1860 tq in ALL gears, Eaton 13 spd transmission, New Mack twin Y suspension, Mack 40S rear ends. A few more miles have been logged and am more happy with the truck every day. It performs very well in all aspects so far. Will keep everyone posted!
  13. I am finally on my first trip in the new CXU. I bought a 379 Pete new in 04, a KW T660 new in 2010 and now I ordered this 2016 Mack back in November. This is by FAR my favorite of the three. Everything about this truck is different from what I am used to but I am really enjoying it so far. Will post some pics and stuff soon.
  14. Just an update. I informed the dealership the truck was coming on 1 of 2 ways. Piggy back or I was flying out to the factory and driving it home and pocketing the freight charge. Low and behold, another power unit suddenly became available and it got piggy backed. The truck showed up @ my dealers 2 days ago. I am still 2 days away from home, so I have not yet had a chance to even see it! The dealer seems to be handling all of the PDI and safety and all that stuff in a fairly timely manner. That makes me happy. Better late then never I guess. Hopefully this is a pleasurable experience from here on out. I will keep you guys posted on any going ons and the performance of the truck.
  15. I am not expecting great service, but I received lousy service from every Kenworth and Peterbilt dealership I have been too as well (that includes various US locations by the way) I have a good relationship with a great local shop and that's where the majority of my work gets done. The dealers are for emergencies or warranty work only. I will not buy any extended warranty so that disappears fairly quick.

  17. I really started putting heat on them. Low and behold, they found the trucks they needed to piggy back it here now. First good news I have had in a while. I'll keep you guys posted as things progress.
  18. To me, THEY should inquire about the cost. And THEY need to figure this out. If I was told the day I placed the order that they cannot deliver your truck without driving it, I would have bought another Pete or KW. I have owned both and both came in 2 weeks early without a problem whatsoever. I order a Mack and I'm dealing with this Romper room bs. So as it stands as of the time of this post, I have still not heard a thing from sales OR had a return phone call from management as to what we are going to do to get this figured out ASAP. And right now as I see it my options are get my new truck with 1700 miles on it, go get it myself kwhich is nonsense) or tell em forget it, have a nice life. As I stated earlier, very disappointed. I had very high hopes for my new truck and hoped for a good experience with a new dealership.
  19. Regardless, flying out to the factory is certainly less then ideal. I'm really not sure what to think @ this point. I'm very disappointed with the customer service aspect of this entire deal since day 1.
  20. Should be considerably more to Canada considering distance and border crossing etc.
  21. 500 credit huh? Well that's good to know. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
  22. Two problems. First, I'm North of the border so that could be a bit of a nuisance getting it across the border. 2nd, on my dime?
  23. Just a little follow up to my earlier "plant fire" post. I ordered a new CXU 613 back in November. The truck was promised to me by the end of March. Then we had this plant fire and everything got delayed. Thankfully this site was helpful at getting to the bottom of the situation since I never did get the real whole story from my dealer. I got in touch with the dealer last week and asked what was going on, as I had heard nothing. (I currently have a buyer for my t660 Kenworth that has been pushed back 5 weeks as well) I get a reply saying the truck is finally built, but since I placed a do not drive request on the order, we need to wait for a power unit going to the same dealer to tow it. Ok fine...How much longer I ask? I NEED A DATE!! ETA is Now May 15th. Alright, that will be 7 weeks late at that point but at least I know what's going on. This morning I get a call from my sales person asking if we can remove the do not drive request. I said no, I ordered a new truck and I don't want someone else driving my new truck 1700 miles. I am then told well in that case we need to wait for a suitable power unit and we don't have any idea how long it will take to deliver your truck now again. I immediately called the manager of the dealership and left a message but received nothing in return. This is getting old fast. I am on a hair trigger to lose my deposit, tell em to shove their new truck, and keep my Kenworth.
