  1. Thanks! I will swing by the truck parts place and check out what they have. On the brake pedal, does anyone have a schematic of which is the inlet side and which is the outlet side for the air? Truck was dissasembled when I got it.
  2. The guy I bought the truck from took all the air lines off. Can I put the new style plastic air hoses on it? Are the fittings the same or what adapters would I need? Never messed with the stuff before
  3. Just got a 1955 B42T, and I plan on doing alot of upgrades and a decent restoration on it, so I figured I would start a thread about it. Right now the truck is completely stripped down body wise, and needs some rust repair on the back of the cab, and the cab floor. Does anyone have any links to repro cab patch panels for sale? Or links to any threads about cab repair? I thought of making my own floor out of diamand plate, but I was curious what to do about the back of the cab where the body mounts are. The guy before me also stripped out all the copper tubing from the air lines on the truck. Does anyone have a schematic of where the air lines are suppose to go? Where can I get a good deal on the windshield gasket and back glass gasket? Also maybe even a deal on fresh glass. I also need the rubber cab mounts, mine are missing. My plans for this truck is to repaint everything, and then flat black the cab until I can put a decent paint job on it. I am also contemplating swapping out the 401 for a 12v with a 5spd or a 440 mopar with a 727 auto out of a motorhome.
  4. I have a 727 from a motorhome, instead of a sliding spline yoke, it has a fixed yoke. Should be easy to adapt over to what the Mack has. What do you mean by not as heavy duty? Every 440 before 1973 was a steel crank engine, just like the 413. The 440 cast crank is still pretty substantial, about triple what a small block chevy has lol. The early 413's did have an odd 8 bolt thick crank setup, but the later ones were the same as a 440. The odd thickness and 8 bolt setup on the early 413's were due to them being hooked to the early cast iron automtic transmisisons. Id love to swap a 12v cummins in, but everybody who has one thinks it is gold plated. One day I will find a deal on a 12v or some other diesel to swap in. I have alot of other projects going on at home already lol, right now I just want to make it semi-drivable. I had a dodge D-800 with a 413 in it and a spicer 5 spd. It also had a large rear axle like this, and It would move pretty good with the 413. I might just leave it all stock for now and use the 401, because I would have to rig up an air pump for the air brakes if I dropped the 440 in... etc
  5. I just bought a 1955 B42T, and I have been thinking of converting it over to a 440 with a 727 automatic. Its cool to see pictures of a Mopar powered Mack. I bought the truck completely dissasembled, so I can pretty much make it how I want it to be.
