  1. Oh and that's one cool Ausie Mack to bad I can't shift left handed....
  2. I agree with fishhook Company I'm leased to did 10 09 thru 2011 Cummins took off egr and hotdog cookers. New manifold turbos and programs. Trucks run great all 650hp plus now and getting way better econ. And no downtime just running making $$$
  3. Tandem drives. Thanks for input guys. The eBay valve does look to be the way to go.
  4. Wanting to add spring brakes to front drive. I only have them on rear and they are not always enough. Can you just T into existing lines to add on or is there a better way?
  5. Heavy Diesel Tuner can do up to 100 HP custom tune in your ecm. I did my 01 427 and it really woke it up and increased mpg. I later added Rochester stage 2 injectors and the high perf. turbo and got another boost in both power and mpg. It will pull till the cows come home now.
  6. Twisted shifterz at no19products.com has hundreds of choices with any size of threads you need
  7. When injectors replaced did an overhead as well. Thanks for input I will have the fuel pressure checked and unit pumps
  8. I run what is referred to as a three line wet kit. It has a feed line from tank pressure line from pump and return line from pump to tank. This allows the pump to go directly back to tank when control is in neutral there for not over heating oil or over working pump. I drive a hydraulic powered pump on my trailer and also have hydraulic powered jack shaft on tractor. I can operate a dump detach or any type of hydraulic driven accessory with this system. Can hook you up with a guy who is expert on wet kits drums or any hydraulic system on trucks as well as transmissions of every make. He is 80 and has dealt with these his whole life. Located in Evansville In.
  9. I have a slight miss I guess you would call it. Not a complete dead cylinder just sounds like one hole not firing completely. Really noticeable at 800 rpm to 1000. I installed new Rochester stage 2 injectors about 3500 miles ago. But beleive it was acting this way prior to new injectors it was just very slight. Just wandering if this could be a weak unit pump. My first Mack so I'm still learning. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks
  10. Both mods made increases in power and economy. I did ecm first and it was a noticeable increase. I have gauges and if you pulled it hard on a hill you could get egt to hot. I believe that the tuner told me if you didn't have gauges he could set it up to protect its self from this happening. But with turbo and injectors it will pull much harder without getting the egt above 1000. Gauges aren't that much and easy to install I would definitely add them either way you go. I had a n14 525 that was very strong before and now this truck is as good if not better plus .75 mpg better econ. It was costly to do all mods but the increase in mpg above stock will pay for it all in 12 to 14 months. Then its money in my pocket plus a happy driver.
  11. Thanks for replies. Been extremely busy as of late and hadn't had time to get back on here. My hickup at 1550 I have found is in the throttle. There is a fine line between moderate acceleration and game on. And as revs increase I was creeping of the throttle and crossing that line. Holding throttle steady now and it doesn't happen. Still cuts power when in a hard pull and giving it lots of throttle but that's got to be some kind of tourqe limiter. Any way it doesn't need to be pushed that hard to do a good job. Left a big cat powered Pete behind from stop light yesterday while I was grossing 82000 so I'm very happy with my Dog.
  12. I haven't had a dyno. The Jake did improve slightly. The turbo is a nice kit but had to do a little modifying on the air inlet pieces that were part of the kit to make it all fit. Not just a simple bolt up and go deal. Will be really happy if I can get rid of the stumble and high torque cut off deal. Basically went from a whimpering lap dog to a snarling junk yard dog now. It is sure alot more pleasurable to drive. I am going to keep the truck for along time now.
  13. Power improved considerably the EGT has not got over 900 so far and coolant temps haven't changed that I can tell. I am happy except for a little stumble between 1500 and 1600 rpm when loaded and going up through gears also if you really push it in a pull the malfunction light will come on and power will cut for just a second like its reached some kinda torque limiter or something. I have went from foot on the floor cussing it to 1/4 to 1/2 throttle will do everything with ease. And to my surprise the mpg has increased with every mod. Up to 7.62 on last tank and that's all short haul miles.
  14. I have an 01 Etech 427 with new 100 HP tune in ECM and Rochester stage 2 injectors and Vision high performance turbo. While accelerating under load it will just briefly hicup around 1550 rpm then come right back. With cruise on in rolling hills once under strain the malfunction light will come on and power will cut for about 1 second then goes right back to full power. May do this 2 or 3 times before cresting hill. Its like when torque reaches certain level it backs it down briefly. With these mods the power has increased considerably but this is annoying. Any one have an idea of what's happening and how to elemenate it. Thanks
  15. Heavy Diesel Tuner in NW Illinois. $1700 for 100hp on an etech 427. He can do Mp series as well. Heavydiesetuner.com. very nice guy 2 day turnaround on the ecm. My Rochester stage 2 injectors and HP turbo be here tomorrow. looking forward to another 100
  16. 7.18 today all two lane and some stop and go. I pull a gas can, so am empty over 50% but am pleased with this performance so far. Pulled pretty good hill coming out of 30mph zone today full gear higher and 7mph faster than it would at stock 427 setting. Always grossing 82000 min when loaded.
  17. I watch it pretty close has been hovering real close to 7 since I bought it in May. Have just run little over 500 miles since the reflash. First check was 6.9 if that holds will be great because it pulls about same as my previous truck wich was a 525 N14 this one has 3.73 rears and previous truck was 3.55 so the lower gears are making up for the smaller displacement. All in all I'm happy with power now. if this hadn't worked I'm pretty sure the dog was going to find a new home but not now.
  18. Just got ecm back with a 100hp tune on my 01 427. Just ran Saturday but has improved sluggishness and boost comes up quicker and higher than before. Seems to have quite a bit more staying power on the rolling hills that I was on. Time will tell if it was a good investment or not. Keeping my fingers crossed for now.
  19. My 01 cx613 doesn't have enough tilt and telescope to suit me. Anyone else have this problem? Wondering if there is a way to change over to a different column without major fab work. Seems like the older style used by most manufactures had more adjustment to them. Just wandering if any of you had tried swapping.
  20. I'm in same boat. Bought first Mack in April. 01 e7 427 13spd Not happy at all with power. Hills scare it to death grossing 80k. Just sold my ole Pete so going to spend some of the proceeds at Rochester I think. Like you rest of truck is very nice but not enough to overcome lack of torque.
  21. I hope you get a reply. I have been thinking about one on my 01. One of the company trucks where I'm leased has one on a new DD powered glider. Driver says its no where near right on mpg or miles but the ecm has PDI program so don't know if that is the reason or not.
  22. Also check Illinois Dyno they can reflash your ecm. They have changed name but Google them and there is link on old site to new one.
  23. Don't run CA. And I wouldn't give it a second thought. And yes on gliders co. I'm leased to has built 12 Pete gliders with pre emission engines in the last year. They have made great trucks especially since they all are PDI enhanced and any where from 600 HP to 750 and getting 7mpg plus.
  24. Sounds interesting. My rad only has about 30000 since new. But this is a vision so my grille opening is probably smaller than a CH. Just trying to think of all angles before I take the leap. I guess I will just try it and find out. Thanks Dirty Milkman for your 2 cents.
  25. Thanks for input on injectors. Did you have any issues with water temps getting to high after installing injectors? And on the apples and orange deal I'm well aware of that. But I think there is plenty of potential with the right add ons in this little puppy.
